Dear Friends,
I am frequently asked about crystals, their qualities and the benefits they bring in physical, emotional and spiritual healing. With this in mind each day I will be sharing with you a different crystal with information which I hope will be interesting, informative and helpful to you.
Today's crystal is Obsidian, also known as Apache Tear; This is one of my favourite crystals, one I have used often in the past. For a long time after my mother died, I would sleep with it under my pillow. It is a wonderful stone, for assisting in the process of coping with emotional pain, especially grief.
Apache tear gets its name from an old Native American Legend. It was said that certain members of this tribe were pursued by the Cavalry. Though they fought bravely they were outnumbered. Rather than be captured they jumped off a cliff to their deaths. The distraught women of the tribe cried dark tears of grief, which fell to the earth, and formed into these dark strangely shaped stones, which are believed to be their tears formed into reality so people will always remember what happened.
Apache Tears are a type of black Obsidian, but they have a more friendly vibration than some of the other types of Obsidian. They are strong stones for grounding and protection and to aid you to clear negative emotions that may be holding you back.
These dark strange looking stones occur naturally in these odd shapes. They are not altered but are natural crystals. They are a type of black obsidian tone found in the south-western USA and Mexico. They are volcanic stones, that may be partly transparent. Their color is very dark brown to black in color.
Apache Tears are strong stones for spiritual grounding and they are also powerful for psychic protection. They will raise your ability to recognize the approach of menacing situations, where you may be at risk. Like other types of black obsidian, they will absorb negative energy.
These are very useful stones for anyone to use, but if you are a healer, or if you are doing any spiritual development work there are strong advantages to using these stones. Their energy works within the base chakra, where it will move excess energy down into the earth chakra Apache Tear for grounding.
The energy of the Apache Tears will strengthen the blood and the immune system... and they will help the body to assimilate Vitamin C and D. Their energy within the sacral chakra helps to aid the removal of disharmonious energies in relationships.
They assist with the reduction of toxins in the body by aiding their removal. They may calm muscle spasms and enhance vitality and strength within the body.
These unusual stones are a November birthstone. They do make lovely rings and pendants, and their unusual shape makes them a striking and unique piece of birthstone jewelry. Having jewelry made from these stones is an excellent idea, as you can easily wear them and keep this excellent energy within your aura.
Love and light
