I have a couple of experiences I would like to give here concerning miracles. In 2004 I brought back from India a “japamala.” A Japamala is a string of 108 beads and is used for the reciting of ones chosen deity, or name one has chosen for God.
The beads must be held in the correct position and is passed through the fingers and thumb as one recites God’s name. This I usually do before meditation. When I got back to Australia I counted the beads to make sure there was the proper number of 108.
I counted 107, so not to be mistaken in my count I recounted the beads over (3) times just to make sure. Yes there was only 107 beads to my disappointment - one was missing.
So whenever I sat to do “japa” the reciting of God’s name, I would have to always add one more count to make up 108. This went on for some months, and in those months I had a pretty rough time with mental frustrations concerning family members. One day I asked in prayer; Lord, you know that I do my “japa” and I offer it always to You with full concentration.
I also know Lord that (You) see and hear everything everywhere at all times, You are Omnipresent. I ask of you Lord to verify one thing to me, on my japamala there is 107 beads which of course should be 108, if I leave all my frustrations and concerns to You by surrendering myself into your care, will you take care of them. But of course I will not sit idle, but go about in taking care of my responsibilities while also dedicating it all to you.
If you accept this, then please verify it by adding one more bead to my japamala. About an hour passed when I decided to re-count the beads, OMG I thought, wait a minute let me count them again, yes there was now 108 beads. I have treasured this japamala ever since this occurred, and will never let it out of my sight.
The other miracle came about in 2005 when I was changing my windscreen wipers on my car, you know the rubber that runs through the metal part. I went down on a Sunday and bought a pack of two wiper rubber blades.
Brought them home and began to replace the old ones. After ripping the old ones out, I then measured the “new” then cut the first one in size. I began to run the new blade through the metal wiper only to become alarmed, what happened was I cut too much off it, it was at least 2 inches short I totally wrecked it. My old rubber blades were ripped and torn, and now I only had one new blade left.
What to do, oh God I said to myself. It’s about to rain and I have to go to town, the store is closed, please help me Lord. I then looked around my feet to see where the piece of rubber blade landed so I could check it. I looked and looked but couldn’t find it. What’s going on I thought. I again picked up the rubber blade that I had cut and put it beside the other new one just to see the difference in measurement. OMG, I couldn’t believe it, no wonder I can’t find the cut off piece, because once again God intervened. The cut off piece of rubber was now back to the original, making it whole again. It seemed that God had reversed time. Tears of love and devotion were filling my eyes while all the time I kept saying over and over – I love you Lord.
I tell this just to let you all know, that many do not know what God is. He is ever waiting for us to accept Him, once we turn to Him He then turns towards us. In fact, God never turns away its we who do the turning away, God just waits for us to realise our mistake until that day comes when we finally turn back to HIM. Take one step towards God, He then takes a hundred steps towards us. We don’t have to become religious, or go about preaching the word of God to all we meet, of course not.
If we turn to God and try keeping Him in our thoughts throughout the day, then in time we start to see changes taking place within us for the better. The two miracles that I have just given were only two, there are others much greater than these I can tell as well, but refrain from doing so because they are personal. Though there are some I will mention like the one I told concerning my mother inlaw.
