Here is something that will make you all think very deeply on, Quotes. Do you have a special quotation that you hold dearly too? If so then share it. I would like to ask if you can give your very own quotation, and what it REALLY means to you on a personal level. This is not a test of any kind, it just helps us all to know a little more of each other. I will give mine first and explain it in short detail.
In order to find "Yourself" first you must lose yourself.
To me, this means if one wants to discover their REAL-SELF ... their (Higher Self), then first you must lose the little self which is the (ego).

Dear Neon, As you can see from my profile, my own personal favourite quote is the same as yours. "You cannot transcend what you do not know. To go beyond yourself, you must know yourself." by Nisargidatta MaharajThese words encompass perfectly for me the realisation that until I understand myself, what makes me tick, why do I react the way I do, what is my motivation. I will never be able to resolve the inner conflict that impedes my spiritual growth. Not only that, but through self understanding, I feel that I will come to understand others better. I cannot say the journey has been easy, because it has not. Often it has been very painful. Self awareness requires absolute honesty. No hiding behind excuses and self justification. I have also had to guard against the tendency then to berate myself and stay stuck in feelings of guilt. That has helped me to cultivate, self forgiveness, self love and compassion. Having made a commitment to personal growth has been at times very challenging. Once you start that inner journey, delving through what you think you know. It can come as a shock to realise, that we don't know ourselves very well at all. Previously held assumptions, judgments about ourselves and others all rise to the surface. One thing I can say is, that this self work as enabled me to begin recognise, the voice of my ego whereas before I could not, unless it was very obvious. The ego's voice can be very subtle. I have learned a lot about myself. But, as the saying goes 'It is still very much a work in progress'. I look forward to reading other people's favourite quotes and those that have been very meaningful to them. Don't you just love, how they can give us those 'Ah Hah' moments. Thank you for sharing yours. Love and light Kaz

Dear Neon, What a great post and I certainly look forward to reading the replies. Here is my personal quote: “We are all swimming in this pond called life, just remember every movement you make create ripples” I like to think of swimming as a metaphor for our spiritual developement, and to understand that some of us are natural swimmers, some of us are just floating along, while others may be just splashing about, either way we are all making ripples that can be felt by all. ( Remember always stay within your own depth and if any of you ever see me drowning please throw me a life jacket ) Love and Light

I used to think as a kid G*d should play a trick on us and create something impossible to prove He existed. Later I realized it should be the exact opposite. Something that shown a spotlight on our home planet in unerringly precise dimensions.
Isaiah 19.19 "In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the heart of Egypt, and a monument to the Lord at it's border. "
It is suggested that refers to the Great Pyramid of Giza. It is suggested the mathematical excellence of same defies coincidence. It is noted we do not even know who built it as it dates so far back in time and yet it still exists in good condition. Which only begs the question of why it was built in the first place especially when it would so difficult to so so. Plus nobody supposedly would even know for thousands of years the exact dimensions of the planet earth which would be mirrored in the dimensions of the pyramid. So why did they bother?
If ever there was anything rock solid that undeniably existed and could not be explained logically it is the Great Pyramid. It constantly reminds me there are mysteries for the seeker to unravel.

Fun! I'm jumping in.
Mine is "It is what it is" (okay maybe not a quote but certainly a saying that I hold dear).
Some people say that's negative but for me, I begin to ponder what 'it' is. I absolutely love it!
The other thing that I once read in a self-help book was something along the lines of: "We never complain about the things we can't change". This really struck a chord with me.
Looking forward to reading more! Rose xxx

My favorite quote is by the Dalai Lama. "My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness". I love this quote because of its simplicity. I believe religion/belief should be anything that is loving and spiritual. Kindness, trying not to harm other people is how I try to live my life. Sometimes I think people worship the idols and forget the meaning behind them.
Blessings Ruby

What you are healing is your past, your present and your future. Do not strive for perfection. Your perfect moment is always now. Live in gratitude and return to gratitude when you notice its absence.
I try to live by this, for me gratitude is a component element of love and light, its a feeling I have within me already, I know this as my spirit self,
