Hi Smeets, Welcome to The God Light. Its really nice to meet you. Its so refreshing to see a new member posting so much. I am hoping some of it will rub off on everyone else. Are we politically correct! Not sure I have thought of it like that. I think we are always aware of offending someone else's belief's albeit inadvertently, so I guess we are pretty polite with each other. But that's not such a bad thing really, is it! But we definitely do not hold back on expressing our thoughts and opinions. We are a diverse group, coming from different backgrounds and spiritual beliefs. I believe this does make for interesting reading and can be very informative. I have enjoyed reading the posts you have written so far and can see you have a good sense of humour. I like your artwork very much, so look forward to reading more of your words and seeing your pictures. I think you have a lot to offer too, and at 29 the world is still very much your oyster. So don't go throwing in the towel just yet!! You will find your niche in the world, just stay being open and ready to embrace any challenges life throws at you. I believe that is how we grow, and find out just what we want out of life and what makes us happy. Love and light Kaz

Hi and a very warm welcome Smeets I like your photo. Your eyes drew me into them immediately. They seem very deep but I sense they hold a lot of water and I fear one could drown in them lol. On a more serious note your artwork is fabulous. I especially like the one with the key. I love the way you used the colours and the softness of the curves in the key compared to the angular lines of the city. You truly have an amazing talent. I have enjoyed reading your posts so far and I look forward to reading many more. I hope to reply to most of them in time. I think you will find The God Light a great place to share your thoughts and to make new friends. We are a friendly group and we might not always agree with each other all the time but we certainly respect each other. I look forward to conversing with you my friend, Love and Light

Thanks guys. Yeah being polite is always in the back of our minds. It's strange. For me it's very strong and it's always there when I start to feel in control of things. I'm glad you like my art. I try not to be too good lol. I love drawing crappy stuff. To me that's even better than a perfect drawing.
Again, thanks. Talk to you later.

Hello Smeets,
I didn;t know you had a formal introduction. Just wanted to say welcome to the forum. There's a lot of people who are in similar situations on this forum. Its very easy to fall into sadness when you feel that you've lost your purpose or you're not "where you think you should be". I think we often base how happy we are from one moment to the next other people's expectations often disguised as ours. In my own life, I entertain other peoples opinion as if they are fact or let their opinions hurt me or shape my own. The truth is they dont matter at all, if inside you know what you want. And if you dont know at the moment, your searching will eventually bring you some clarity. Keep searching and you'll gradually become more clear about who you are. Its easier said than done , but I often fall into a self-created ditch when I start thinking about where I think I "should" be. It's not easy, I know so I hope I dont come of as preachy. You seem like a genuine person. I dont know why you stopped painting, maybe you needed space from it or theres some other reason, but if painting is something that brings you joy, it may help to start back up again.
I hope that you keep posting here and if you like come into the chat room. There are many people in the chat who have a lot of wisdom. Hope to see you soon Smeets.
Take Care

Thanks clara, I am trying to find my path and I think I find it but it vanishes from day to day (like you said). I hate this analogy, but I find myself when I'm not looking. I'm still searching to some degree but it's more like I notice my true self after I start being my true self.
I found out from reading on here how helpful you guys can be and I hope to return the advice - which I have started to already. One major, beautiful thing I found out from subsidinginsanity was acronyms. I came up with one called BOMB... Bob's Orginizational Method When Bored. I am a very organized guy. I like to rearrange my room every month. I organize everything all the time. So BOMB keeps me sane once and a while.
Not sure if I will use chat. The forum seems to be enough for me. I'm sure people use it to their advantage but for me it's just one more forum - a forum within a forum, which makes no sense to me. The PM feature is cool though and I will use that. I see no faults with that. The forum is structured. Not sure how one would talk and be heard in a chat if there are 5 people on there. Is there any kind of code of conduct in there or is it all a free for all?
Also here is my personal website and Art Gallery if anyone is interested.

Hi Smeets, Its an interesting question about the chat. Some prefer to use it to the forum. It could be that there time on line is restricted, and prefer the immediacy of the chat, where what you say can be responded to straight away. In the chat room there is also the opportunity to share on more then one subject or talk about life issues and give and receive advice. It is more relaxed. Others prefer the forum, because it gives them time to formulate their thoughts. I personally enjoy both. If I had to choose a favourite, it would be the forum. As I like the fact that the words are there for all to enjoy, unlike the chat, where the words are there for those who are around to hear them at the time, and within minutes they are gone. Writing on the forum, gives me the opportunity to meet and get to know those members who never come to chat, of which there are a few. But then there are many who come to chat who never post on the forum. I guess it is about enjoying the best of both worlds, when you use both. Love and light Kaz

kaz - Yup, you are right on the money with that. Thanks for your input on chat vs forum... it really helps me decide if I should go on chat or not.
Rose - I know now that I have friends here. And I enjoy your input and advice you have. If you go to my website you can get my email and we can talk more that way too. What city are you in? I grew up in Newmarket, Caledon, and Mississauga. I live in Florida now but Canada is still my home. I miss tim hortons and dill pickle chips.
Cyber - Thanks!

Like Cyberangel, I feel your your photo really draws the viewer in. For me, I feel like I'm looking at Johnny Depp playing Willy Wonka. There is mystery in your eyes, with a mischevious smile. Your art is colourful, and I have to say my favourite is the birds and red brick path; though I do love the virtues picture also. I would love to see more Hi, and welcome
