Hi Karen, I had the strangest dream last night. I dreamt a young bear was being attacked by a fox. The bear was certainly able to defend itself against this tiny fox but instead was cornered by the fox and was trying to escape. I managed to scare off the fox and carry this heavy bear into my car where I was protecting it. Meanwhile the fox was circling my car outside. I remember feeling trapped along with this poor bear. Was just wondering if you knew what this could mean? Thank you

Hi Lorraine, In dream symbology, on one level the people, characters and animals in our dreams all represent an aspect of the dreamer. When you think of a Bear and a Fox, what comes to mind? The Native American people reverred Animal totems. Animal totems play huge roles in our lives. They aid in self-discovery and capture our imagination, giving us incredible avenues of self-expression and awareness. Let us look for a moment at the symbology of each animal. Its strengths, weakness and recognised traits.
The Bear: The bear as power animal is intuitive and can often manifest healing. The bear is a symbol of invincibility. Protection, Childbearing, Motherhood, Freedom, Discernment, Courage, Power and is Unpredictable.
Because the bear is cautious, it encourages discernment to humankind. Because of a fierce spirit, the bear signals bravery to those require it. Because of its mass and physical power, the bear stands for confidence and victory.Because it prefers peace and tranquility (in spite of its size), Bear calls for harmony and balance.
As you can see the Bear is a very powerful animal to see in your dream but it comes to show you that you too have these qualities within yourself. Meditating on the bear and its power can be a very powerful tool in self growth.
The Fox: In Native American lore, fox animal symbolism deals with two interpretations. One perspective (Northern tribes) observes the fox as a wise and noble messenger. The other (Plains tribes) views the fox as a trickster playing pranks, or worse - luring one to demise. Fox symbolism deals the the following qualities or traits. Cunning, Strategy, Quick-thinking, Adaptability, Cleverness and Wisdom.
When meditating on animal symbology we look at it in two ways. There qualities positive and negative are a part of our makeup. Or can be attributed to people around us in our waking environment. The strengths are self explanatory. We use them to help us grow and move forward in life. The negative are area's that need working on.
The car in the dream Lorraine symbolises your personal energy. Its colour can also add detail and meaning to the interpretation if you can remember what it was. In the dream you carry the bear with you into the car as you are fearful of the fox. This makes me wonder, if the fox is representing something or someone in your waking life that is exhibiting the more negative traits of the animal? Someone you are unsure of and need to be cautious around. Use the qualities of the bear to help you deal with this person or situation if this means something to you!
On a final note, both animals are young, small. For me this is saying the bear qualities are young and growing within you , so nurture them. Help them grow big and strong. The fox, may indicate that at the moment this troublesome element in your life, may not be a full blown problem yet, but it has the potential to be so. It unnerves you and has given you cause for concern. Ultimately Lorraine this is your dream and only you will know if this has meaning for you.
Please only take from this dream that which is meaningful and leave the rest. I would appreciate your feedback.
Love and light Kaz

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!! You are so gifted at this my friend. I was surprised on just how accurate you were in your interpretation. In reality, I am extremely wary of someone and he makes me very nervous and cautious when he is near me. He is smart but impetuous which unsettles me greatly, and I know I am not the only one! The car in my dream was old fashioned and rusty, but I felt secure, safe and protected in it, even though I could see this little fox running rings around my car. I can’t remember seeing the colour of the car but the colour red or yellow immediately spring to mind. All this took place on my Irish grandfather’s land and near his old house (which is no longer there now). In my dream it is night-time (which might relate to my fear of the dark? not sure). I can totally relate to the bear as I know in reality I could take this guy down with a single swoop if I really wanted to but I find myself more and more biting my tongue when in his company, to keep the peace, if you will, (in my dream the young bear held his head low). I was absolutely amazed how you could get all this from my dream, as I had no idea what it meant as it felt so surreal but yet I felt there was such a strong message in it somewhere, if only I were able to understand the symbolism of it. Karen, you are truly superb at dream interpretations. May I enquire further in relation to the car, land and night represented in my dream? Thank you once again for your time and so accurate an interpretation. Love and Light

Dear Lorraine, I am happy to help and so glad that you were able to take so much from the interpretation. It never ceases to amaze me also, just how much symbols and images tell us, about what is going on within and around us in our waking time. I have to say though I do not just use the symbolism of dreams to guide me with the dream interpretations. I also use my intuition. I find as I go through the dream it connects me to the dreamer in a way I can't explain. That is why when I was working on the Fox symbolism I felt very strongly that this was connected to someone in your atmosphere. Someone who made you feel very uncomfortable. Someone not to be trusted. The fact you felt this too, was a good affirmation for me from this aspect. The fact that the car is old fashioned, shows that you have good old fashioned morals and principles. They are what gives you such a strong foundation, and your moral compass. You know what is right and what is not and will not be easily taken in by other people. As my mum would say, you are not deceived by flannel. The rusty state of the car, indicates its showing its age and some wear and tear. A good indication that you yourself are probably in need of some TLC (tender loving care) or that you have been overdoing it and need time to recharge your batteries. Maybe a touch up or respray is in order. As in spoiling yourself a little. Treat yourself to a new outfit or a new hairstyle, to help you feel good about yourself. In dream symbology the colour Red represents ENERGY. The colour Orange again is about ENERGY and PEACE. This would explain why you felt safe and secure in your car. You know that within, you are STRONG. As you said in your reply to me, if you wanted to you could put this person in his/her place. But you choose not too. You are being clever and cautious. There are some people who are good at manipulating words and saying one thing while inferring another. So you end up feeling slightly insulted or put down. But because they are clever about the way they say what they say, often we are left wondering whether that feeling that we had about what they said, was right or not. Do you get what I mean. Until there can be no mistake, it is best to use the quality of discernment and caution; the Bear energy. In as much as you can, try to keep this person at arms length. The fact that in the dream it was night time, indicates that you are in the dark about something. Or there are things about this person you are not aware of yet. But give it time and you will be. Again, caution. Forearmed is forewarned as the old saying goes. But have no doubt, whatever happens you have all the qualities and traits needed to deal with whatever comes. I hope this helps Lorraine. Love and light Kaz

Dear Karen, Thank you once again and I think you are amazing I can relate to everything you have said and I am also amazed on how my dream represented my true inner feelings. I too feel that intuition from you and probably why I think we often connect or synchronise on many things! I do hope you pursue this gift you have as you are the best I've ever seen at dream interpretations. Sincerely thanks again Love and Light Lorraine
