Well, I guess that's one way to achieve immortality. I wonder if such things will actually be possible in the future.

Hi again subsidinginsanity ... good topic for a discussion.
Here's my thoughts;
Pain and suffering, birth and death is very much a part of this world and will always remain no matter what the attempts may be to remove it, or better it. Some will always get these types of thoughts and ideas, but that's all they are, thoughts and ideas brought about by their ego. Hitler once had his thoughts and ideas also. He wanted to create the perfect specimen - a 'pure' Aryan race where there would be no weaknesses of any kind, mental or physical. Even though he was very much into esoteric, it still didn't sway him in the least, (ego). Look where it got him and look what happened. When man thinks he can go against God and His creation, sooner or later there be hell to pay. (excuse the pun).
God is Perfect - so too is His creation for He is in creation, how can anyone think they could ever better it.
Other civilisations in the deep past have tried things like this also???
Everything in this world is designed and created for a specific purpose. This world is and always will be a classroom for learning. Man is not here for a holiday but to learn how to get on with man, with nature, and to find the god within himself.

Immortality by the way of man, I do not think will work out all that well in the end. Why would I want to improve on what already is. Why not do the personal clearing work to develope conscious contact and realize that you already are immortal. Changing bodies threw out time like we change shirts or cars ever so often.

Ishtahota, I don't expect this sort of thing to appeal to many theists. I for one see the death of my body as my great liberation. But there are a lot of atheists who would probably be into this if it were proven to work and be safe. Look how popular cryogenics has become. When we talk about what the boundaries of science are then such things become conceivable. I'm not sure it will happen in the next 30 years though.

I have to admit. If a computer can be implanted into my brain to help me remember things I am intrigued.

subsiding - and a flashing alarm that goes off in your brain to remind you to do important things, or to sleep, or to do some yoga. If you neglect the reminder you get an electric shock lol. It would be pretty handy.
neon - I understand that hitler wanted to create something good and failed. but that doesn't leave much hope for people trying to do things for good. Are you saying if I try to do something good in the end I will kill everybody? we don't know if technology is a good thing or a bad thing. how can you say life is about learning when maybe this new technology is a way to learn as well?

Hi smeets ... I just saw your reply
Hitler was a monster who was blinded with power and sought to destroy anyone who got in his way. Anyone who has their own interests at heart will always fail miserably. If evil intentions are set in one’s mind then sooner or later they cause their own destruction along with those who follow.
The earth has been granted for man to learn of his divine heritage. In each Age (yuga) – comes with it different life spans for humans, to try to better this will fail. Every individual who comes into the world has a used by date. In other words, their life span is already guaranteed even before they come into the world. Technology (may) help to give a few years span, but I feel it would not be worthwhile? as the after affects may cause many complications. There are universal laws which must be abide by and cannot be changed no matter what - or suffer the consequences. These laws are set by God.
Technology can and will bring wonderful things including much comfort. There is no harm at all in this, as long as there is (NO) selfish motives behind them.

You miss the point in everything given. I have said it before but still you miss it. So for your own benefit I will give it again.
God causes (NO) suffering, He is the silent witness to everything. Man himself causes all his own sufferings by living in ignorance of his Higher-Self - and by following the impulses of his little self. You see, it’s not God but man himself …
As for consequences; A father says to his son; son, dont drive fast you may have an accident, and you might kill someone. But the son pays no heed to the warning of his caring father. So what happens next. The son then takes off with great speed only to collide with a tree causing great injuries to himself, and damaging his vehicle beyond repair.
Who is to blame here, the father or the actions of the son?
You do the wrong thing you pay the consequence. Simple as that.
Its only weak minded people who blame others for their foolishness, but never themselves.

God doesn’t want us to suffer but he gives us these bodies that must suffer? God doesn't want us to suffer but he gives us the laws of nature that will cause our suffering even if we never make a mistake? Why did God send that wave over to Indonesia or that storm to New Orleans? These are the types of problems that we are left with when we try to reconcile God with the physical universe. I blame nobody but myself for the way things are, and then I realize that I am completely blameless because it's all a dream that I made up. I do not try to defend God for this disaster zone we find ourselves in. Nor do I imagine that a perfect God could ever have created it. Any attempt to do so only opens the door to countless unanswerable questions that can only rob a person of his peace of mind.

You Say - and I quote;

end of quote;
Do you know what you are saying?
Your comments are so wildly cast without ever giving it any thought. What you are doing is throwing blame everywhere without ever taking the time to look into the things that YOU ask.
It’s so easy to cast blame on anything and anyone without ever having to work for the answers for yourself. It doesn’t happen like that – you cannot get answers to such things while sitting idle, you MUST work for the answers YOURSELF!!!
When you went to school and sat for your exams, did you study to find the (answers) for YOURSELF, or did you just sit there and cast blame upon the teacher for not supplying the answers with the questions?
Subsidinginsanity … If there is a swollen river and it stops your crossing, yet up stream you see others crossing where it is safe to do so, what do you do? Do you walk a short distance and cross where it is safe, or do you just sit there and blame nature for your misfortune?
I am not trying to convince you or anyone for that matter in what I post, there is no need to. I offer my findings and stories to those who will see something of value. It is they I offer them to.
If you put just a little effort in - you may be amazed at what you get back.

It’s so easy to cast blame on anything and anyone without ever having to work for the answers for yourself. I can only assume you read the first half of my post and got so utterly disgusted you did not read the second half. Go back and have a look. It starts with the words If you feel uncomfortable with this discussion there is no need to continue it. The ideas that I have expressed have brought me peace, but that's not to say they will have the same effect on everybody. I would say question everything, and believe nothing unless it makes sense to you. For me it makes no sense that a perfect God could have created the universe, but apparently others are comfortable with it. If that's the case then so be it. Peace. Edit: P.S. I do find value in your stories.

It's interesting that modern day Quantum Physics is showing that the universe does not exist other than as a projection of consciousness. What is a dream if not a projection of consciousness? The more we discover about the nature of existence the more the limits of logic disappear. What's reasonable is simply a matter of what one is willing to accept. Perception = deception. Check out the following link. www.vision.net.au/~apaterson/science/physics_quantum.htm

In what I wrote was given with a calm mind and not with disgust as you say. Dont think you have upset me because you haven't, and I hope I haven't upset you. Because if I have then that was not my intention. I only gave what I felt would be better understood by you, and that's all.
And I did read the last part of the above reply you gave; If you think you are blameless for whatever reasons, and you think this is all a dream you made up - then get ready for a big shock when your time comes.
