Ok so here was my dream; I was upstairs in my kitchen looking down into my back yard, where my plants and compost bucket usually are. Instead of that the whole yard was covered in swampy compost! then in the middle of the waist deep swamp stood my grandmother (who happens to be sick currently) wearing high rain boots just chilling out doing g-d knows wat. Heres where it get wierd, so from my view point(upstairs window) there was a bear on my right (grandma in middle towards the left) and then a big SNAKE doing circles on the left!!! creepy...So at first my feeling inside was like "wow this is soooo cool, sumthing epic is bound to happen here with a giant snake a bear and my grandma all together"...(horrible i know) and then i ran to get a camra to capture the rare moment but when i came back i realized that my grandmas life was at risk so i opend the window i screamed to her to get out. She was already pretty much out of the swamp already at that point. But ya for sure that has sum deep meaning, id luv if sumone can shed sum light on it! thank u!!!

Hi Joshie, Welcome to the dream board. In dream symbology a house represents the SELF. Its many rooms, represent the different aspects of the dreamer. In your dream you are in the kitchen. Kitchens represent your work life, connected to cooking up plans and schemes. A place also for sustenance and nurturing. So this is the thinking, creating, putting into action aspect of the self. In life have you been thinking about the future. Or are you in the process of working on any new idea's? You look out into the back yard/garden where your plants and compost bucket are normally kept. Plants are symbolic of growth. Compost/fertilizer would indicate the need for meditation or spiritual nourishment to enhance your growth. The whole of the backyard is covered in this compost, which would suggest a great need for spiritual nourishment is required by you at this time. This can be found through meditation. Sharing with others who have similar spiritual interests. Reading spiritual books or books on self growth and awareness. Anything that helps you to connect with your higher self. The higher self is a wonderful source of inspiration and guidance. Your grandmother is in the dream and she is stood amongst the compost. The people who we see in dreams have meaning on different levels. On one level, she is a aspect of you. Your older, maturer wiser self. She is also connected to your feminine energy. Everyone has within them the energetic traits of both sexes, regardless of their gender. Female qualities are traditionally seen as caring, nurturing, compassionate, patient traits. The dream may be suggesting that in connecting to this aspect of yourself more, it will help you in your daily life. On another level, it is believed that while we dream, we astral travel and can appear in other dreams. In life do you have a strong bond a connection with your grandmother? Does she worry about you or offer advice when you ask. Her appearance in the dream could be her way of connecting with you and encouraging you. When we see animals in our dreams, what you need to do is to look at the animal and think about what it is about them that stands out for you. You look at their characteristics, behaviour, strengths and weaknesses. The bear is on your right side. The right side of anything represents giving and creativity, intuition, right awareness and going in the right direction. The bear represents strength, power; on the other hand its energy and temperament can be inconsistent, which means they can be difficult to trust. They can be cuddly or violent. Do you see these traits within yourself. Or is there someone around you that you know who exhibits these traits? Either way, a dream animal is asking you to look at these qualities. To bring out the strengths and work in the weaknesses! To your left is the large snake. On the left side represents the intellectual or rational. It is also the receiving side. Snakes represent the kundalini, life force, creative energy. Snakes are a powerful symbol, never to be feared. They represent an awakening or continuance of spiritual growth. So two very powerful symbols here Joshie. In some belief systems seeing them in a dream might indicate that they are your animal totems/guides. Use their strengths to enable you in your waking life, to harness and use your own inner power to help you move forward and to achieve the things you want to in your life. Your first reaction that this was pretty cool was the right one. Intuitively on a deep level you understand what the dream is trying to convey to you. The second one is based on fear which in life if you were confronted by this situation would be the right one. A very powerful dream Joshie. I hope I have managed to shed some light on it for you. This is only my interpretation of it, so please only take from it that which is meaningful to you or what feels right and leave the rest. I would appreciate your feedback. Love and light Kaz

Hi Kaz, First off i read ur posts all over the forum and i love ur ideas. especially ur posts on judaism.
Secong...WOW!!! Ur interpretation was amazing!!! it was very eye opening and much of it really resonated within me as truth. I especially felt the part where u said my whole backyard is covered in compost is a sign of growth. The last 4-5 months iv turned my whole life around and i got my eyes on changing the world in a very big way. Furthermore every day for me, the main thing that im thinking about is how to perfect myself as a human being. So that part makes so much sense that my back yard is covered in compost and im in my kitchen! I recently heard sumthing sooo beautiful and it went sumthing along these lines- in life sum times ull be down in the dirt, dont despair, that dirt is the fertilizer needed for your growth. Based on the idea u gave me in ur interpretation id say that aspect meant sumthing like this (and correct me if i say anything worng)- what ever obstacles im facing right now, dont be discouraged, im doing all the right things (im in a swamp of compost)so now i just have to tough out this season because its just a matter of time till i sprout.
As for the connection i have with my grandma. im not sure. U see, she is a holocaust survivor so shes got a very rough tough personality so i never really had the best relationship with her. but none the less i know she lives SOLEY for the sake of her children so maybe the connection is greater than i think.
Another thing that really resonated within me is when u said that my initial reaction was the correct one. I believe that reaction was like u said, a deeper level of my subconsciousness reacting, and when i started to get afraid was at a point when i was already coming out of the dream so that was coming from a more earthly consciousness. The one thing that im having trouble understanding was the connection u made with the animals and myself. First off the bear made me feel more safe in my dream than the snake. The bear was just chilling by a bush (almost friendly vibes/neutral) and i knew he was of no threat, the snake on the other hand seemed like he was looking for trouble. circling around my grandma and also cover in a slimy layer of fat (weird right?!) just made me very uneasy. Also i always feel like the snake have sum sort of correlation with the satan because of what he did to adam and eve.
Either way uv for SURE managed to shed lots of light unto this dream, more than i can express in words and i really appreciate it. I think im getting the idea of how to read into dreams. For sure its a great tool for self growth. Thank you very much kaz!

Dear Joshie, I am so glad you were able to relate to so much of the dream interpretation. I love what you said about dirt "in life some times you will be down in the dirt, don't despair, that dirt is the fertilizer needed for your growth". It is so true. Dirt is also about grounding, keeping your feet on the ground. Its the very best of conditions for putting down roots, for creating a strong foundation for us to build upon. In dream interpretation, it is important to note the atmosphere around you, how the dream made you feel. In the dream you say that the Bear, made you feel safe. So that is very positive and indicates that it is the Bear's good qualities of strength and power that you connected too. Indicating that it is these qualities that you have within yourself Joshie, that will help to carry you forward, and be the driving force behind you achieving your goals, creating the life you want for your self. Snakes do have a bit of a mixed reputation I know. Many people associate snakes with the biblical Satan. But truly, their symbolism is one of power, energy and growth. It maybe that its Satan connection is deeply rooted in your consciousness because of your religious beliefs and how you have always perceived them growing up. If this is the case, one could then look at it in this context. There is an old expression 'snake in the grass'. Someone in the environment who is sneaky and a slippery character. Someone to be wary of. Is there anyone like this in your life or around your Grandmother at the moment? Your grandmother must be one heck of a lady joshie, to have survived the holocaust. What a terrible experience that must have been for her. To come through something like that must leave a profound and lasting affect on a person's psyche. Rarely does anyone come through that unscathed, its affects are long lasting. She must be a women of incredible inner strength and resilience. You must be incredibly proud of her. When we dream of a parent or grandparent, it can indicate the need to reconnect with them. Especially if we have not seen them for a while, or there is work to be done on the relationship. To see your grandmother in your dream shows, that even if you are not aware of it, on some level you have been thinking about her. The dream could be also be indicating that part of your growth is connected to your grandmother. That if you take a step towards her and spend some time with her, you will come to know her in a different way. I know that our relationships with older family members are sometimes not easy. Especially if they are quite strict or authoritarian. Look beyond the exterior and get to know the person underneath. By doing this, we come to understand what it is that has created the outer persona. What this person has had to become to survive and how they hold onto this outer armour to protect themselves. Dreams are so multi faceted and deep Joshie, it is a time when we are open and receptive. Please only take on board what feels right for you, but it is clear, that on a deep level, your Grandmother is very important to you and seeing her in this wonderful growth dream for me is an affirmation of that. Just something to consider. On a personal note, I have always had a deep admiration for the Jewish people and writing the posts on Judaism was a very interesting thing for me to do. So I am really glad you enjoyed them. I am assuming from what you have said that you are a Jew yourself. Please feel free to add anything to our Judaism board that you think might be interesting. I can only write from a non Jewish perspective and would love it if someone of that faith was able to add anything to it. Love and light Kaz

Hello again, Yes she sooo is an incredible woman! She realy went through a hell on earth as a child and i dont always appreciate that. Shes very "old-school" and lives her life with an almost blind faith in g-d and doesnt know how to articulate any of her beliefs so it has always made it hard for me to understand her. It almost seems as though there is no logic behind her beliefs, but what u just said confirms sumthing i was telling my brother the other day- just because i dont understand her doesnt mean she makes no sense. I think what im gonna take from that dream (maybe just because i want to take this from it) is that before shes dies, i must make an effort to make that deep connection with her and try to understand her. I for sure am going to try to get to know her on a different level. Thank u!
And yes i am jewish and iv been meaning to write some interesting Kaballistic thoughts on the forum that i know people here will appreciate. I just have to make time, because it takes me a long time write up that kinda stuff. I thought you were jewish based on what you write. You really know a lot about Judaism btw. G-d willing i will get around to adding sum new material the the forum this week.
Thank u so much for ur beautiful insight on my dream! Truly appreciated.
