The Mind of Man

Have you ever given any thought about the “Mind” of man and how it works or just what its capable of. I believe there are (3) types of Mind, something for all to think about.

1…Those who are so engrossed in worldly pleasures and everyday living that they cannot perceive anything beyond their everyday life in all things material.

2…Then there are those who can perceive a little further beyond their own physical existence; who do enjoy with likeminded in talking about the spirit world and that of God, but rarely do they take it any further.

3…Then there are the ones who do try hard in pushing aside the world and all its goings on to make way for clearer understanding of what life is all about. These ones seek God not only in the world but in their very selves. These ones have evolved to the stage where God now pulls the strings to further their understandings and that of their own spiritual evolvement.

The following words are given by someone other than myself.

“Man is Divine.” Man has the Lord dwelling in his heart. Yet he is bound, miserable, limited, weak and agitated, “Why” ?
Man is ignorant of his own reality. He imagines himself weak, limited, bound, and he is so shaped by the “Mind” which is the source of that imagination. Further, man is unaware of his glory, he is the divine poured into a human mould, just as everything else alive or inert is, but it is the privilege of man alone to be able to become aware of this precious “Truth.” Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Man is indeed divine only thing is (we) do not know it. So, we keep coming back into birth until we finally realise our true-self that which is God. In human lies 80% divinity. So you see, throughout all creation (man/woman) is more divine than any other being. And yet, look how we behave. Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, Zoroaster and other Great souls have come down and taken on human form to declare this truth to man all through the ages. It is “no” secret, we only have to look in the right places to discover this truth.
Those beings we call aliens, they are gigantic in their intelligence than we could ever imagine, so too is their spirituality, and yet man still outweighs them in divinity only because man has evolved to the stage where he alone has the good fortune to win God-Realisation. There is no other planet more special than Earth, nor is there any other species of (man) throughout the entire universe that has been given the privilege to realise his Divine Self. Man alone has been given this privilege.

Saint Paul declared as much when he stated: (Everyone moved by the spirit is a son of God. The spirit you received is not the spirit of slaves bringing fear into your lives again; it is the spirit of sons, and it makes us cry out ‘Father.’ The spirit Himself and “our” spirit bear united witness that we are children of God. And if we are God’s children, then we are heirs as well.
Heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, sharing His sufferings so as to share His glory.

Know the truth of your reality, and be happy. How blessed we are to be born into human form. “To be born as a human is a very sacred thing.” Again as St Paul declares: Among all the animals that are born, to be born human is something very difficult and very sacred. Even devas (angels and gods) at one time want to have a human birth.

We must make the determination to use ourselves for sacred purposes, so that God may make us His instrument. If we can begin by changing our ways for the better, then the obstacles that blocks our progress will one by one be removed. Finally, “Man is essentially Divine.”

Actually I have thought about the subject all my life but never got anywhere. The reason being existance can only be defined by how you interact with it and that is very much a two way street. If the average person is not very spiritual that is probably because he/she has never met anything other then competition or aggression. You have to "make a living" to survive.

If I spend my entire life (which I probably will) just trying to find the right questions to ask it will be like chipping away at a brick wall. Well I guess that is better then beating my head against it since I kind of figured out long ago that wouldn't work. In my worst nightmare I am able to take a deep breath and dive UNDER the wall for my salvation but if I change me mind I don't have enough air left to get back without drowning. And who knows how long the trip will be since I can not see beyond the brick wall.

Sort of makes you more compassionate to the others.

I have enjoyed reading this post and the sentiments you have expressed in them.

I agree that man is a spiritual being inhabiting a physical body. I believe we have all have the ability to access our connection to the divine, if we choose to do so through effort, meditation and reflection.

But I do not believe simply because we are spiritual beings, we automatically become divine in our essence. That is why we are here on the earth, to learn! Otherwise, why are we here? I believe each human being has within their very core, their soul, the seed of divinity. Whether or not that seed grows, flourishes and blooms, is ultimately up to us.

Our earthly life if you will, is the soil that the seed is planted in, the conditions around us, the way in which we ourselves wish to seek out and learn about the divine and God, dictates the rate in which our seed will grow, and how well it will do. I believe growth comes through life experience, observation, the acquisition of knowledge about the world and our fellow man. It is about cultivating a healthy love of self, a love of humanity and a love and appreciation for this beautiful world we live in.

My thoughts on this are, when we can discover the divinity within, through self work and humility, 'in spite of' being very physical creatures, whose minds are very much dominated by logic, by ego and worldly desires; that is when the real miracle of who we are reveals itself. It is through man's ability to rise above this, while still retaining their very humanness that the beauty of who we are is revealed.

For me it is always about balance, it is about harmony, it is about non duality. We were born human for a reason. I believe it is important that we never lose sight of that. To neglect the outer life for the inner, is as harmful as neglecting the inner for the outer. Both are flawed when they stand alone. I believe this is the key. It is through the integration of both, that we then manifest in physical/spiritual form, God or the creator's vision of perfect unconditional love.

My perception is the our bodily expression is a vessal of Agape. We are in a duality in which our free will allows us choice. We only have to be open to what we are to be that. Choice enables our exploration of the infinite aspects of Agape. When choice is not aligned with Agape contrast is created. When our feelings are not of joy then we are aware we made a negative choice. when one is in the present without attachments an option of joy choice is available to realigns us. Aloha mahalo

I thought I was being careful in what I wrote, but it seems it may have been taken a little out of context. Sparkle you say: (That is why we are here on the earth, to learn! Exactly. This is why we are here on earth, in a body, to learn from our mistakes by not repeating them and by correcting ourselves as we spiritually grow through each incarnation. Like climbing each rung of the ladder to a higher level of understanding until finally we discover our true identity. You would have heard the story of the drop becoming ONE with the ocean? Where the drop journeyed and struggled over many mountains and through deep valleys and crevasses until finally one day at long last, it discovered for itself the source of what it was searching for. Now the drop was no more - but an ocean. That day is inevitable for us all.

I hope I am not causing any unrest in what I write because this is not my aim. Anyway nice to meet you all.

You write beautifully, and I very much enjoyed reading your post. You caused no unrest at all.

We are all very much on the same page, I can see. I was only expressing my own thoughts on what you had written and how I viewed it. It was a good excuse, to articulate my own feelings on it, and for that I thank you.

You can rest assured the very subject and/or persuit of spirituality is totally inconsistant with everthing inherant in human nature. It is GUARANTEED to go down badly.

You are born amid much fanfare. At some point in time you grow up enough to realise you will die. That is bad enough. Then when you mature and begin to seek "higher things" you are told not only will you die but you must also voluntarily die of your own volition to be saved. Accumulate all only to give it all away! If that isn't the ultimate enigma I don't know what is.

On the other hand it is the only thing worth striving for so that must be some comfort! Plus it just feels better to preach things beyond "make money be sucessfull and everybody will live you".

I stubbornly think people come here to experience a love that is elusive and can't be found elsewhere. It is just that nothing comes easy. Nothing to be ashamed in admitting that.
