Mother

I put this story in Dream section knowing fully well it wasn't a dream at all, but an astral encounter.

This occurred in 2006 in which I documented, as I have documented many over the years.

It was around 9:30pm when I went to bed and began to slightly dose. Without warning I found myself outside my body standing in strange surroundings which looked much like India. I could even feel the strong Indian heat and glare on my face as if physically there.

As I stood gazing about I noticed many people of different nationalities walking towards a certain area. On one side of this dirt street was many little shops, on the opposite side was a large open area with a very large gazebo raised on higher ground. As I approached this gazebo, sitting under its roof were many different races of people sitting cross-legged, and they were singing praises to God with closed eye’s and raised hands.

As I was watching all this a little elderly Indian lady with a very radiant face came up to me, she had the warmest of smiles and seemed she had been waiting for me. Then she gave me a most wonderful hug as if we both knew each other well. I called her by name as if I always knew it. I said; hello MOTHER. While she was hugging me I was feeling an incredible “heat” generating from her body and it was penetrating my own body (astral body).

It wasn’t unpleasant in fact far from it, but rather a most beautiful feeling of intense love and strong penetrating heat. She radiated such an incredible force of heat that it really took me by surprise. If only I had the good sense to ask her about this, but never did. Then she stood on her toes and raised herself higher to give a little kiss on my cheek. Then she stepped back and looked deeply into my eyes with a solemn stare, then said with a frown: (Do not fear he is with you. Everywhere you go there will be little devils and demons watching you. They are sitting on top of all doorways watching your every move. Ignore them. Remember he will protect you. Never fear, you will not be harmed. )

I was stunned at what she said, and I called her Mother without hesitation in knowing that was her title. But I didn’t know her in person (not to my knowledge anyway). She then turned and left with a western man who seemed to be her escort or aid. Everywhere she went he would follow directly behind. I watched her cross the street to sit with others under the gazebo where she began to sing along with raised hands - palms upward.

I have searched the internet hoping to find something on a woman of this description but found nothing. Maybe someone who reads this might be able to offer a little insight.
Maybe what will help is she had a western man with her, I think this is the clue.

Hello Neon,

That seemed like quite the experience. I'm not very familiar with astral dreams or maybe I've had them not knowing what they were. Regarding the lady in your dream, it might have been Amma, the hugging saint. She is an indian woman, known as mother. She gives hugs to people and they are very warm, radiating hugs, so much so that they often move people to tears. I'm not sure how else to interpret the other things in your astral experience, but I hope that this bit of information helps you understand it more. Thank you for sharing this Neon.

No its not her clara, I just youtubed AMMA the hugging saint and found its nothing like her. The Indian woman in my experience was much older (around 80 years old) with grey hair tied tightly at the back, and only very small - around 4 foot 10 inches.

When the time is right I believe for some reason I will know. Thank you anyway for your help.

Its funny Neon, but I had a similar dream (although yours was astral traveling) some years ago. I don't remember all of the details and I don't remember much of it. I just remember many different nationalities and shops and a wide open area. Although mine felt like India it was actually somewhere maybe in Jordan or Israel during biblical times. You might want to try searching female messenger saints. Who she is might have more to deal with the fact that she is a messenger for God.

Dear neon,

I have read your dream/astral encounter a few times now and held off from interpreting it as a dream because you seemed so certain that it was purely an astral encounter. I have enjoyed reading the different responses you have received to it. But, looking at it again today, I felt the urge to interpret it. Not in anyway to detract from your experience of it, but simply to enhance it. As I believe dreams have meanings on many levels.

Many of us travel the astral in dream time. It can be an experience that has, woven into it other symbolism. Just as the many threads and colours that go into weaving a carpet, give it added beauty, depth and dimension. So do dreams I feel have this quality. So bear with me and lets see where it takes us and if any of it is meaningful to you.

You dream your in a place that you believe is India. The fact that you felt so vividly, the light, warmth and heat of the place; symbolically shows the strong emotion, desire and passion within you, to be there. It also encompasses the strong feelings and passion your spiritual life and path evokes within you. To dream of India means that a certain aspect of you is subconsciously seeking answers to the human existence. India is the land of spirituality where many great enlightened beings were born. Such as Sri Rama, Krishna, Buddha, Mahaveera to name a few. The spiritual seeker within you, is wide awake.

The people we see within our dreams, are all on one level an aspect of you the dreamer. You see people of many nationalities. This shows that you are open and receptive to the beliefs of others. It also shows that you see the connection, the thread, the light of spirit, that flows through us all, regardless of race, cultural and spiritual beliefs. It may also indicate that you have lived many past lives and within the dream, the influences and knowledge that you have gained from them, have all come together to meet in this very spiritual place.

The street or road you are on, is the direction your life is taking you on. The many little shops you see along the road, symbolise the variety of opportunities and tools you have at your disposal. They also indicate that there are still more for you to discover.

You join a group of people that are sat cross legged under a gazebo. Singing praise to God hands raised and eyes closed. Singing praise to God being part of a group of people. Can be connected to a group of people in life to whom you connect with and share your beliefs and spiritual practice. The Gazebo, shelters you. It can also be seen as a protective covering. You are enclosed and protected, but there is also an element of shutting something or someone out! Your eyes are closed. Closed eyes can mean that there is something in life that you are not looking at or are unwilling to learn from. This could be connected to a life lesson. Only you know if this is meaningful to you Neon.

In your dream you saw a little elderly Indian women come towards you. On one level, she is the older, wiser aspect of you. That part of you that embodies your spiritual beliefs and aspirations. On another level, she may be a spirit guide, or as you believe a real person of high spiritual stature, whom you are meeting in the astral. This can also be said for the group of people that you have sat with to meditate/pray.

She has a radiant face. Her inner light shining through. She smiles at you and hugs you warmly. A hug symbolises comfort, love and nurturing of oneself. It is also healing. You call her Mother. The first person I thought of when you said this in your post, was Mātā Amṛtānandamayī Devī. Simply known by her followers as Amma (Mother). She is also been referred to as the 'hugging saint'.

Again, symbolically, the mother represents the older, wiser more experienced aspect of the female energy. That which nurtures, protects and loves unconditionally. It is also the source of creation, giving birth to the self. When this archetype appears in a dream, it is asking the dreamer to embrace it and to bring it into their waking lives.

Men and women both have within them male and female energy, regardless of their gender. Aspire to have both yin and yang in balance and harmony within the self. It will enrich you in ways you cannot envision and will also improve the relationship you have with yourself and with those around you.

The mother stood on her toes and gave you a kiss. The kiss symbolises affection, warmth and communication. Which fits in with the rest of the exchange between you. A very loving and healing experience. She looks deeply into your eyes. So her eyes are wide and open. Which is symbolic of seeing with great clarity.

The message here symbolically, and she indicates this in her words to you. Is that you too should keep your eyes open and see things clearly. Do not be distracted by illusion. The little demons are symbolic of the fear and distractions within the world that the ego creates. Within this I feel is a warning and a lesson connected to the ego. Only you know if this is meaningful to you.

Yes I can accept some things you have said it does make sense to a degree.
I have often meditated and asked for better understanding even by putting myself back into that experience (through my mind) - but answers never come. I know when the time is right it will become clearer.
