so im a new member, i stumbles across this site after putting various things into :)google, a better day,new start etc..after a few combinations of nothing suitable, this came up. Funny because although im sort of looking at starting a new path, tonight i wasnt planning on this...so again in my life..God comes up.. it keeps happening you know, this god thing, in all places in my life... so then i started reading the new testament..and i dont get it, it seems so flippin contradictory and judgmental and un reasonable. I;d like to develop faith, but not sure if im doing it out of fear more thsn belief.. does anyone ever feel like they are clutching at straws.. im quit spiritual, i have bit of a felt sense thing going on, and a deep intuition. but it goes against the grain of the required by god according to the word.. i talk to god, to the wind, i feel a higher something...but am scared that i dont believe in the word, how can I? it wasnt written directly by himself was it...? besides it was written way after long and short im now on here and would like to work out my faith and discuss a few ideas opinions i have without being judged or misunderstood.. really glad i found here WW xx

Hello Walkway, Welcome to The God Light. It is lovely to meet you walk, many like you just happen to find their feet bring them in our direction. Maybe the name acts like a beacon of light that draws spiritual seekers in. Whatever it is, many feel like they have found just what they were looking for.
Our group is a all faith spiritual group, so it is a great place to get to know people who have spiritual interests, but from different backgrounds. I can only speak for myself but it is what I love so much about this group. It is definitely a good place to share and learn from each other.
I consider myself to be a spiritual person rather then a religious one. I do believe in God and believe we can have a relationship with him anywhere. Personally, I am open to other spiritual beliefs, because I believe there is a lot of wisdom and spiritual insight to be found, in more then one place.
For me faith, belief is something that is felt in the heart and our intuition is the key that helps to guide us along our spiritual path. I can relate completely to what you have said about contradictions that are found within the bible. I tend to randomly read passages, and go with what I am drawn too, rather then to try to intellectualise it. Be discerning, as I can see you are and if something doesn't feel right or make sense then disregard it. When something makes sense to you or touches something inside, you will know it.
You are a normal person, who is searching and questioning. I do not know what particular religious path in Christianity you follow, but I do believe that God gave us a brain and free will for a reason. You will find your way and what is right for you in your own time.
I look forward to reading your posts and getting to know you better. We have a spiritual chat room which is open at 6pm UK time daily. Please feel free to call in sometime when you have the opportunity, to say hello.
Love and light Kaz

Hello, Walkway. Glad you could join us. Seems you have some of the questions that started many of us dancing to different drummers. Yes the NT, especially the KJV, can be perplexing. Three people can read the same verse and get four different meanings. But I think the book was design that way to give us the freedom of finding our own truth without worrying about what others believe. So come by and ask questions or add to our illumination. You'll be welcomed.

Welcome to the God Light forum Walkway,
So many went through what you are going through right now. Your struggle with believing in God, but necessarily believing everything written about God is something I can relate to especially. There are so many supportive people in this forum that are here to listen and walk with you on this journey. Don't be afraid to ask questions or share your experiences in the forum and in our chat room. You don't have to worry about being judged here. I look forward to seeing more of your posts. Take care.
