Hello All, My questions are: What do you think about the Enneagram and the different types? Can a person be defined by a particular type? I am interested in learning more about this subject and would really like some feed back on it. Both positive and negetive concepts on the Enneagram are welcome. Thank you L & L

I had a little look at the system, for me the questions was more geared to you being against society, against what would be classed as the normal socially ethical way of being. To get top score you would probably have to be a bohemian nomadic hermit or something similar I must admit with my counselling background, I rather use other modes of working peoples personality out. For me the best one is just to observe people, I really do not like to put people in boxes, you can be so wrong if you make presumptions about people. As the saying goes if you label me you negate me. In effect you have made them into the person you think they are, not who they truly are.

in the view of Buddhist impermance i have recently learned we are constantly being reborn. i also kind of see that we have two choices as to what to become(more or less). there is a more postive or more negative being we are trending towards. but there is some destiny involved in the destination. we can be like Jonah in the bible and have a challenging growth experience as a precursor to finally yielding to our destiny. i can't see if the aforementioned is part of the destiny. it doesn't seem to be. it is part of free will and personal choice. so i guess the question would be what three or four things is a person
1. what are they 2. what are they destined to be (positive) 3 what are they desitined to be (negative) 4. what is there diverted destination through willfulness or subterfuge. (optional)

I checked out this Youtube video on the enneagram and realized why my first reply was so off subject. i have all nine points of the enneagram and the cateogories that are split i have both factors. Is this normal, or am i super corgi? My doctor was saying that my personality is as big as five people at least. i wonder about myself. what am i? is there a name for what i am. No jokes please...lol

Thank you both. Jessie thank you for posting the video link. I watched the video and found it intresting enough but still not sure what exactly the enneagram is...I continued to do the test online and discovered I am a "type 7" with an 8 wing the test was fun but I am not convienced that I am mainly what the test implies I can relate to all types. That is why I think I agree with Leon I rather use other modes of working peoples personality out. For me the best one is just to observe people, I really do not like to put people in boxes, you can be so wrong if you make presumptions about people. As the saying goes if you label me you negate me. In effect you have made them into the person you think they are, not who they truly are. Again thank you both for your comments.

Enneagram like any other test out there... is only a 'gram' a tiny portion of who we are.
