Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap Galatians 6:7
It has been said that whatever you give, whether that be good or bad, will be returned ten fold.
What are you beliefs on this cosmic law, does life reflect back what you give out?
Added Note: Can you explain without mentioning the word Karma.

I believe that with all thoughts and deeds there are consequences. Be they good ones or bad depending on the affect of those actions. Everything we do has a ripple affect.
Even something that is done with good intentions can affect people in ways we could not envision. It never ceases to amaze me just how closely interwoven our lives are with each other. Even strangers. I believe life is a lesson, and the affects of our actions create experiences for others that are lessons too.
I am sure with hindsight people have often regretted doing something, but I do believe if someone acts with the highest intentions they should not berate themselves if things do not turn out as they had hoped or expected. We can only act with the knowledge we have at the time. I believe everything that happens to us and others in life has a higher purpose, which ultimately will prove to be beneficial to us. Love and light Kaz

Like everything in the Bible terseness prevails. Subtlety DOES exist rather we can see it or not
Groups, families, entire nations, even a certain time and place far removed from another enjoy or suffer because of what there are or did. So individuals are lumped in with the rest. They are along for the ride. I hardly think victims of genocide deserved it. Persons born of Millionaire parents don't deserve it either. Lucky $##!s!!
Oh joy! I get to live in an era where oxygen generators were invented and can be bought at yard sales for next to nothing! What a boost to my health! Bad heart take a rest; now you don't need to pump so hard.
Alas there is nothing here to mitigate the fact that somewhere along the line someone had to make some sacrifice to enable the existance of everything we now enjoy. They may have paid dearly for something they would not live long enough to see. So I think things do come back to you but the time frame is elusive.
That is the "catch" with most things spiritual. All you can do is be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice and hope it turns out okay. Because by defintion the consequences are beyond the ability of your present state to see.

Hi Leon, Yes, I believe life does “reflect” back. The hard thing (for me anyway) is distinguishing, am I the mirror or the reflection? It’s not always clear and sometimes I think life can throw in a two way mirror to either confuse us or to just make us take a closer look at ourselves. I think we must always be open to receive whatever life throws at us both good and bad and learn from it. I hope my answer makes sense. I can relate to Karen's answer, such a wise, kind and special lady. You are ALL amazing folks L & L

I don’t only believe that we get what we give… I ‘know’ it… as do we all… I’m sure just as I have witnessed it in my own life, we all have witnessed it … some may not be willing to see it that way and just choose to blame life … we use such statements as ‘whatever life throws at me’ to defer any responsibility to the making of our own circumstances (especially when it’s something we view as ‘not good’)… while taking credit for the ‘good things’ that come our way…
We have to wake up to the fact that we are responsible for it all… what we dish out will and does return to us… in time… like Gruntal said in his post… ‘the time frame is elusive’ …
Life without reflection does not exist. I am therefore I exist and my life reflects who I am to me and to the world.
God bless, Silvia

Hello Leon,
I really believe that you get back what you put in to life, whether consciously or unconsciously. So it's often good to be aware of the energy you put out and take in. That way you'll be able to pinpoint and break habits that result in unfavorable consequences. I've often found that when I'm in distress or in a sad mood, my unconscious habit is to look for more negative things, whether that's reading a negative comment, a sad story, or unpleasant images. I would habitually focus in on these negative things while I was "depressed" and would wonder why I was still sad.
So, recently, when I was feeling down, I was presented with choices. I could listen to sad music and project thoughts of sadness or anger or I could listen to encouraging, inspirational music and project gratefulness and joy. I chose the latter and felt a sense of peace inside the next morning. The next day, I didn't think I had anything to wear and I could've have decided not to even bother going outside, but I opened up myself to the possibility... as it turned out my mother had just bought blouses for me and my sister. So it worked out in the end and I did end up going outside and enjoying a beautiful day, when I would have otherwise stayed indoors. It may seem like a small thing, but to me it's very important.
We have a choice to feed negativity and see ourselves go in a downward spiral or we can feed the good in our lives and watch it grow. We get back what we put out in so many little ways.

It is such an eye-opener when one sees that they do in fact reap what they sow in this life.
There is great strength in power of thought - be those thoughts positive or negative. If we are certain that we won't accomplish something - we won't. If we believe we will - we do. Your life mirrors what you put out there in the first place and I have recently seen more examples of that than ever in my life. There is much to be said about 'Being the change you want to see' - it's real isn't it?

The cost of giving is receiving. Know your power and glory. There is no such thing as idle thoughts. All thought produces form on some level.
This is a law of God. You did not make it.
Rejoice,
Christ David
