Hello all, I am not sure if it is 'allowed' to ask this here so I hope I am not offending anyone by this post...I was going to post it on the Christian Forum but that is a discussion forum to share your thoughts on Christianity and biblical topics of interest where I am looking for some answers to my questions. Thank you in advance L & L What do you think is the meaning behind Genesis 11: The Tower of Babel? And how do you think can we learn from it?

I've always had difficulty with the story of the Tower of Babel and I think I might be able to understand why. Although, I was confused about whether it was God or the "gods" who brought about confusion between tongues, I think it has a symbolic meaning. Maybe the destroying the Tower of Babel, was symbolic of destroying the ego. In life, we as individuals, tend to build monuments to ourselves and we end up thinking that these monuments are who we really are. God will sometimes destroy the built up images we have ourselves, so that we can discover who we really are.
Thank you for posing the question, Cyberangel.
