I'm a Christian and follow (or at least try to) Christ' teachings. But in doing that I've come to realize that a lot of Christians would probably not have been very pleasing to Christ! Do you think Jesus would be happy to see "Christians" or just shake his head in disgust since He wanted religions to be inclusive and not exclusive. Furthermore, do you think He would want us to accept the new testament (which is mostly about Him ;D ) or live by the old testament? Now if you're a Christian you believe that Jesus came to save us from our sins because we couldn't live up to God's expectations! And the new testatment talks about that...however did Christ mean for us to use this as another part or bible? Afterall, it was just a story being told about Christ walking here on earth (of course along with a lot of other things lol). Blessings Dee

To be honest Dee, I wish someone would just compile the teachings of Jesus, so they could be used to teach people. I know his life is a story in itself, but for me the words of Jesus count most. I get a little buzz when I find out I am reading the words of Jesus over another's words.
Since I did more research on Moses, I have not been able to take the old testament so serious. The guy killed many of his own people, just because they would not listen to his word. A man of God would not murder people, so for this reason, I really do not think Moses was talking to God, more like he was following signs. God would not ask anyone to murder people, that is an act of man, a God created in man's image.
Sadly in that time everyone wanted God on their side in war, and for me Moses was no different.

Any title be it Christian or whatever im afraid scares me, as i feel the very word religon also has left its mark of fear, causing so much blood shed all over the world. Sometimes i even struggle with the word God and tend to say "all that is". There are also many religious books claiming to be "truth". I feel if "man" has had an imput in either re-writing or translating any words of truth then personally i would read them with caution. I totally believe in the exsistance of Jesus, and to me im sure he was sent with purpose, ......do i believe all that was written, no im afraid not. The real truth can only be found in me, in my silence, i will not find it in any book, nor in any labled stone building, no matter how grand it may be, nor will i be preached to, especially at my door. Jesus came with a message from "all that is", many of his teachings i guess revolve around very simple principles that could proberly be placed upon a few sheets of A4, "Love" is the magic word here, as simple as that. Im a Medium and i have been so lucky to have felt what im sure is just a tiny sample of the power of this energy from beyond, the truth really does lie within, i hope i havnt offended but i think Jesus would represent his Father only and not the label of Christianity...Kevin.

Hi Dee, A very interesting question, which has sparked off some well thought out responses.
You asked "Do you think Jesus would be happy to see "Christians" or just shake his head in disgust since He wanted religions to be inclusive and not exclusive". I think Jesus would be very sad at how the simple message of love for all has been corrupted.
It is down to perspective isn't it, the way in which religions sprang up. We were all given the same message, but we heard it differently. People will take something and twist it into something of their own creation. In the end, differing so much from its original state, that it becomes unrecognisable. Certainly as silvereagle pointed out, it is has been the cause of a lot of fear and bloodshed.
Religion has been labeled unfairly as being the root cause of mayhem and war, for it is the greed and need to control and dominate that is a facet of man's make up that is at fault. Religion is just the unhappy scapegoat. I believe just as we cannot condemn a nation for the behaviour of the few, we should not condemn the idea of a religion, because of the actions that have ensued in its name.
Many gain a lot of comfort and inner peace by following the original message of Jesus, no matter which belief they follow. Many wonderful things have been achieved in God's name, and yet we dwell on the negative aspect of it. Until people move away from this divisive way of thinking, religion will always be used as stick to beat others with. We need to grow and evolve and stop thinking of ourselves as individuals but as a whole and understand how the actions of one affect the lives of the many.
I like Leon, would love to hear more about Jesus's words and less about how other people interpreted them. Like Silvereagle I also believe, that we should listen to our own hearts more and go within. A quote I love is this "I follow the Way of Love, and where Love's caravan takes its path, there is my religion, my faith." by the Sufi Mystic Philosopher Ibn 'Arabi. This sums up my own feelings about religion and belief.
Love and light Kaz

Yes i can see that sometimes religon may well be given the blame for some of the problems that mans materialistic greed causes, but if we push that aside and simply take the word religon without some of its sorrowful manly influence we are then left with its many facets, all claiming to be truth. Yes i guess they may well lead to the same goal, but maybe the fact there are variations in their truths has to bring the very word religon into question.............Love one another, close your eyes and seek, all will be revealed.......Kevin.
