Does anyone know anything about generational curses? How do you know if you have one and what can you do about it?

Jessie asked a similar question previously. See Question. For me, a curse can only be carried forward if we buy into it. If we ourselves fear the same thing as those that went before us, we also make the same conditions in our own lives. The apple may not fall far from the tree, but you have been given free will to change, you can always move your apple tree elsewhere, you can learn to see and think differently. It is only fear that keeps you trapped.

Thank you for responding Leon.
You said that it's only fear that keeps you trapped or bound by that. Does that apply to past lives as well? Meaning if you believe you have an unresolved issue due to a past life, is it unnecessary to go digging into it?

The point is to understand a situation, fear is a lack of understanding. I would not place too much emphasis on past lives, as this takes your attention away from this life. It is so easy to pass the buck, so easy to say it is something else that makes me the way I am. I am not to blame but the person I was in the 13th century, is the one who messed things up. By thinking this way you take away all accountability for your actions.
Yes you might have lived a life in the past that was full of pain, but your attention should be dealing with the now. Do not let your mind drift too far from your objectives, which are to heal you in the now. Past life healing can be a very tricky subject, because we cannot be sure that the person really had the past life. Someone might have seen a regressionist, or had dreams about a past life. But the conclusion might not exactly be true. It is better to deal with what you know, and that is connected to this life.
I am not against past life therapy, just take it with a pinch of salt, your main area to focus on is the here and now.
