Hi Everyone,
My name is Jenni Shipard. I am currently studying Nepal for my Socially Diverse Environment topic and I am required to interview someone of my chosen country. I am from Adelaide Australia, currently studying through TAFE S.A. I would really appreciate it if someone could please take the time out to answer a few basic questions I have regarding Hindu culture, food and dietry requirements and strict religious beliefs.
Thank you so much,
Kind Regards, Jenni
1. What major differences would you identify as a problem if you were to travel to Australia?
2. How do you feel your religious beliefs would need to be accomodated during a stay within a hotel in Australia? eg. Food and beverage requirements, specific dietry requirements - halal, no alcohol etc.
3. What sort of facilities should be provided to the Hindu people as far as a shrine / mosque or other place of worship. are there any specific requirements?
4. What sort of behaviour is considered offensive or rude that it would be very important for staff and the Australian public to be aware of?
5. what would be the best way to deal with cultural misunderstandings?
6. Are there any prohibited items within the culture?
7. Are there any superstitions?
8. what are the traditional eating customs?
9. What are some key areas that can cause conflict amongst staff and guests?
10. official greeting / goodbye. What is the appropriate manner in which to address people in.
Cheers again, I hope someone will be kind enough to give me a few answers. they do not have to be long either, just a couple of sentences, im not looking for an essay Also if you could please give me your name, doesnt have to be your full name although that would be preferred, and where abouts you are from - that would be fantastic.
THANK YOU!
