Either in your spiritual practice, or for personal healing. It is a wonderfully, calming and spiritual crystal and I believe everyone should have some.

The colour Purple and Amethyst is connected to the Crown Chakra.The seventh chakra or Crown chakra,is the foundation of our spiritual body and links us to the highest guidance, the creation. It influences spiritual will, inspiration, idealism and celestial knowledge. It is our connection with the universe. This chakra physically influences the cerebral cortex, cerebrum, central nervous system, glands and the pineal gland, pituitary gland and hormones related to them.
You mention another crystal is recommended to you was a Orange one. The crystal that comes to mind is Orange Calcite. But only you know if this is meaningful to you.
