This is the first thread that I've started on here and sorry for starting with such a big question but it's something that I've been pondering on. So here goes. I believe that the source of our consciousness is the soul but a lot of the functions of our brains seem to have physical/scientific explanations - for example, memory. SO my question is: if (as I firmly believe) there is a non-physical 'spiritual' entity (ie, the soul) inside us, looking out, how does that interact with the more physical functions of the brain? Does anyone have any theories. I really seem to have jumped in at the deep end here, don't I!

Hello ouroboros,
Welcome to The God Light.
What a great question. We have often debated about the mind and thought here, and in our chat room. Where does our consciousness reside? What is it that makes us unique as individuals, the personality etc? If you believe in spirit and the spirit world. How do we interact or connect with that? What aspect of the mind do we use? And what as you have said, are functions of the mind that are not connected to the 'mechanics' of the brain.
I think that conscious thought and problem solving analytical action as being connected to the mechanics of the brain, and unconscious, creative, intuitive thought as being connected to the free thinking unconscious aspect of the brain/mind.
The unconscious part of the brain, is something we use more when we are asleep, dreaming. We also can access the unconscious part of the mind or higher thinking as its sometimes referred too through meditation. Now I believe, we can access the thought, memory of the soul through these mediums.
Though I have to say, that I believe we can still be influenced by our spirit/soul energy when we are awake. Usually through intuitive feelings. Some might call it 'gut instincts or reactions'. So something we do that seems to come from nowhere, not related to what we are doing or thinking at the time, or to the task or action in hand. Does that make any sense to you?
Of course these are only my thoughts on it ouro, and I am sure there are many other theories about this out there, its a fascinating subject. I for one look forward to hearing what others have to say. I am sure you also have a theory or two about this yourself.
Love and light Kaz

Hi ouro, That is good question u asked... Human Brain is very strong. We do not use 100% of our brain. We are only able to use few percent of it.. similarly we do not know who we are, what we were before we are born i mean to say we do not know our soul completely.. The relation between physical and non physical part or relation between Brain and soul according to me is the following:- Usefulness of Brain is directly proportional to the knowing of our soul
Non physical part of the body stays in all physical parts of the body... and all are interrelated to each other.. Thanks for the query.. god bless u charu

The mind each of us have that is logic is a gift. Or a talent. The story of the talent. Do not put it to work and it is lost. There an absolute knowing that seems to have no logic. That is spirit, soul, higher self or a numerous amount of other names. Each of us has various gifts/talents. All of us have that inner knowing that we must (MUST) learn to follow. That inner knowledge will keep each of us safe or in God's hands.
