Reiki attunement dream

Hi all,

id like to share one of my most favourite, recent, and definitely most spiritual dreams, open to any interpretation, advice or comments

Id woke up after 8 hours of sleep, laid in bed for about 20 minutes then decided to fall back asleep as i was still a bit tired. I laid on my back, with crystals under my pillow, and started to think thoughts about meditation and reiki. Slowly i fell into a dream without realising..

I was speaking with an older lady, i assumed in the dream it was my great nan, but it definitely wasnt, we spoke about reiki, i said id like to pursue and learn it, her bright round blue eyes lit up with excitement, 'I can attune you keep your eyes focused on mine' she said. From this point onwards i felt like i was in meditation, gradually slipping deeper under her spell as she worked her magic. It becam Then paragraphs of text started popping up, like a youtube 'how-to' video lol?.. i struggled to read it, it was too fuzzy.. so i took my attention of it and started noticing my surroundings, I was floating on a wooden chair, half sunk in a river of water, being pulled by a slow current, my eyes still fixated on her big blue eyes, it was the most relaxing and spiritual feeling ive experienced.

Then suddenly she was panicking. She was feeling the back of my head, muttering words under her breathe as if she had done something wrong, by accident. I looked to the right and saw the blood on her hand, I told her 'don't worry about it! its not your fault, i cant feel it and don't even remember it happening, im fine i promise', she replied 'it must have happened when the water started to rise, you must have hit your head on the door/wall'
Then suddenly a table next to us wobbled, a glass vase on top of it fell of but she caught it in time, it had something inside of it but i couldnt see what, she smiled and went of to place the vase somewhere safer, not to return. I assumed my attunement had failed half way through. I then sat down with my mum and sister and we spoke, a little girl next to us about 9 years old said something along the lines of 'When i meet someone for the first time, i like to inspect their loft/attic..' (it was neither of these words but thats what she meant, she used it as a metaphor for the mind..) I understood her, and replied 'Yeah.. you get to see who they really are'

I felt amazing after i woke up, such a journey, even though the attunement didnt work i felt like i am on the right path to achieving it.

It is even possible to self-attune, or through your dreams? some say traditionally only a master can attune you, but some say otherwise..

The crystals i had under my pillow were; hematite, amethyst, malachite, rose quartz and sodalite. Im quite new to crystals and working with them, I just looked through them and picked out what felt right at the time. Any advice on how to better use/choose them would be appreciated

Welcome to the Dream Board.

In dream symbology, the people we meet or see in our dreams, are aspects of the self. In your dream, the women is a older women, who reminds you of your Nan. So a older, wise, maternal aspect of you. The nurturing, caring aspect.

Reiki is a Japanese form of spiritual healing. Rei Ki means life force in English. This older wise aspect of yourself obviously has some affinity with Reiki or healing, and its a way of you reconnecting with that. It might even have a past life connection for you.

To see a healer in your dream, represents the higher self. The Christ within, the inner healer. It is the wisdom of the self that connects and balances, purifies and cleanses. This women in your dream may be a healing guide. It is not unusual for people to receive healing as well as to receive healing or energy attunements in dream state. These are things for you to consider.

Dreams are multi layered, they are a way for us to work through our day to day lives. Look at ways of resolving waking time dilemmas or problems, from a different perspective. They are also a way of connecting with our higher selves, personal spirit guides or even interacting with those in the spirit world.

The paragraphs of text you saw in your dream, may simply be a glimpse of information connected to reiki. Symbols and words are used in Reiki, but are only passed on from Reiki Master to the initiate. It might not have been clear to you for this reason. But its still an encouraging sign, that your higher self is being pushed in this direction. A confirmation if you will, that this is something you are meant to explore further.

In your dream, you become aware you are floating on a chair. Chair's in dream symbolism, represent your attitudes and your position in life. How you see yourself, your identity. A chair also represents comfort and centering.

A river of water, symbolises the river of life, the flow of your own life. Water represents emotional energy. In the dream you are half submerged. Its actually nice symbolism, as you are centering yourself, balancing the emotional and the intellectual. The current is moving slowly, thus indicating, for now, you are taking your time.

The big blue eyes of your dream healer/guide seem to be very important to you in the dream. Eyes symbolise seeing things with clarity. Open to and willing to learn all the lessons of life. Blue represents Peace, tranquility, calm, stability, harmony, unity, trust, truth, confidence. It is the 5th Chakra found at the throat. It represents peace, thought and communication. Which seems fitting, as these are aspects of what women in your dream is trying to impart to you.

You say the women in your dream starts to panic. She stops noticing there is blood on her hands coming from the back of your head. Blood in dream symbolism, represents life force and energy. Bleeding indicates a leaking out of this energy. So she stops. Which is very wise. On one level, it might indicate a fear within you. A natural anxiety of rushing, without thought or guidance.

In our enthusiasm to embark on new spiritual practice, it is sometimes tempting to rush things through. Or to strike out, without proper instruction and preparation. The dream symbolism connected to the head, can indicate that you are intellectualising something too much. All aspects of growth are important, and each phase is an important part of the learning process.

To become a Reiki practicioner, it is important to be attuned by a Reiki Master. Receiving the symbols to enable you to heal, is just one part of the many things that make up Reiki. It is a very spiritual path. We are taught the correct hand positions. How to distance heal. How to cleanse and balance the chakra's to maximise our ability to be pure, open channels for healing. A reiki master, also has a wealth of experience at their finger tips, which they can share with you. They are also their to help you, to advise you as you go from being a fledgling level 1 reiki healer, to a Reiki practicioner at level 2, where you will be healing others. There is a whole ethos to Reiki, and it is a way of life for many who walk the Reiki path.

Sitting down with your Mum and sister, to discuss your experience, shows that you have a strong familial connection. Your family are very important to you, and you like to share things with them. This is a good thing. On another level, in dream symbolism, the mother figure, is about nurturing and the sister, is the female aspect of you. Healing, whilst can be done by male and females, is very much a feminine energy. As it is seen as embodying the female qualities of gentleness, intuition, unconditional love and compassion. So in this dream all these aspects of you, are present.

The little girl, symbolises the child within. Your innocence, your enthusiasm for new things. Your appreciation for all that is magical and mystical. Again another aspect of you Sam. I would agree that the reference to the loft, is connected to the mind, the intellect and the higher self.

Amethyst - Amethyst is a stone of the mind. It helps to bring calmness and clarity where there is anxiety and confusion. Wear Amethyst if you want to get in touch with your intuition, your feelings, or your values. Amethyst helps one learn of all things spiritual, mystic and psychic.

Malachite - Malachite's gift is assisting one be comfortable in changing situations. Also very powerful in aiding with the interpretation and transfer of information that leads to Spiritual Evolution. Excellent stone for identifying, recognizing and releasing negative experiences, especially one that you cannot recall. This is particularly useful for people on a spiritual path, or in recovery, for releasing guilt.

Rose Quartz - Rose Quartz is the corner-stone for the heart Chakra. Its energy is essential to self-fulfillment and inner peace. The soft soothing pink of Rose Quartz comforts and heals any wounds the heart has accumulated. It is a stone for those who are unable to experience the joy of living because they never had love given to them.

Sodalite - Sodalite encourages being true to self and standing up for your beliefs. A stone of self expression and confidence, Sodalite can aid in issues of self worth, self acceptance, and self esteem. Sodalite promotes intuition and a trust in one's own judgement, which can be a great ally in daily life. Sodalite helps to achieve emotional balance, releasing old conditioning and programming of the past which no longer serves.

I think your onto something here ive not been using crystals long, and have probally rushed it a bit, i done some research for a few days and decided to get some and see what happened, ive enjoyed inspecting and learning about them but a couple of the crystals i chose that night hadnt been 'cleared/charged' yet, this may be why, that and being too eager, i thought this after i woke up but youve made it a bit more obvious that i should perhaps slow down and have some more patience

Do you usually sleep with crystals Kaz? if so how many? and how do you choose which ones and not just use all of them?

So ive also taken yours and Leons advice about the Reiki attunement, and will invest in pursuing that the end of this month after my short holiday, as i should be meeting likewise people who practise/receive Reiki there, so it should be a good experience for me

One last thing Kaz,
I really enjoyed your descriptions of the crystals, most internet sites have quite straightforward explanations of them, do you reference anything or are your words just from your experience?

Dear Sam,

Thank you so much for your feedback. It helps me with my own practice of dream interpretation, plus it also gives us the opportunity to discuss the dream further.

It is much easier to see the message of the dream, once you understand the different symbolism. On the whole I thought it was a very positive dream. It also drew your attention to the fact, that it is wise to balance enthusiasm, with a healthy dose of caution. Learn your healing practice well, and it will stand you in good stead as you move along.

You had quite a powerful array of crystals under your pillow that night. No wonder you had such a vivid dream. I would say, Amethyst would be the best one to keep under your pillow. It is a naturally protective stone too. Amethyst is one of the most spiritual of all crystals. My descriptions of the crystals are a mix of experience and reference books Sam. I have over the years accumulated several very good books on Crystals. My two favourites are the Crystal Healer by Marianna Sheldrake and The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall.

I am so glad you have decided to become attuned properly by a Reiki Master. It really is worth the money. Its not just about receiving the attunements as I said before. Its everything that goes with it. You will probably be attuned with a group of others. I know when I did my Reiki attunements, I had the same Reiki buddy for Level 1 and 2 and we became very good friends, even though we lived a 100 miles apart.

Many Reiki groups also have what are called 'Reiki Shares'. Where they meet up regularly, to give each other Reiki and to share their experiences. Never underestimate the power of fellowship on the spiritual path. It was an incredibly spiritual experience for me, I loved it. I am sure you will really enjoy it too, plus make many new friends. I would love to hear how you get on.
