Even if they are of people that we know, they still represent something that we see in that other person, that reflects a part of who we are. Or they manifest a characteristic that we admire or wish to emulate.
In your dream, you saw yourself as a man, this symbolises your inner masculine energy. You saw yourself as the protector of the little girl. The little girl is the innocent vulnerable aspect of yourself. So you can see the interaction of energy here.. you using your stronger, protective, aspect of self to protect the inner vulnerable child aspect. This may indicate that in life, you present a different face to the world, one who likes to be strong and in control. But inside, you are very vulnerable.
The military can represent restriction, feeling that sometimes, you give away your personal power to others. Not feeling you are always in control of your life. It can also indicate a need for more self discipline in your life. In the dream, you are trying to get the little girl away from this group of people. Again, demonstrating a desire to protect yourself, your inner child from outside influences.
A car in dream symbology represents your personal energy. How you move through life. You describe the people after you as the enemy. Do you feel that in life, that you cannot always trust those around you. or that they do not always have your best interests at heart?

If it was your left arm it is about bringing in energy, if it was the right arm, it is sending out energy. Your arms being injured in this way, may be showing you, that how you express yourself or give out energy or love has been hurt in some way.
When we give love or share an aspect of ourselves with others, we do open ourselves up to being hurt. The same can be said, when giving out love and energy, we can end up giving more then we have to give and leaving ourselves depleted. Again, only you know if this is meaningful to you.
Blood in dreams usually denotes a draining of energy or life force. So be watchful of how you are expending your energy at this time. In the dream you become the little girl and the man gets killed. The car crashes. The car, your personal energy crashing might be saying, be careful how you expend your time and energy. Slow down and take things easy. Conserve your energy, think of your own needs at this time. There appears to be a lot of inner conflict here.
Death in dreams rarely means a actual death. Death is about transformation, the end of your life as it was and the beginning of a new chapter. It can also be saying that aspects of your self are dying. This often happens when we go through a period of self growth and life changing experiences. Whatever it is, it is about change. Not death.
The dream ends, with people gathering around you, but you are watching from above. In life, do you ever detach from reality and watch what is happening, as if from a distance. Sometimes, people do this as a way of protecting themselves emotionally, from stress or turmoil. A form of self preservation.
