My shadow, the sun, and seeds

I was standing somewhere close to the sea, a harbor it seemed. There was a ship to my right and I was standing on a high spot, looking at a wall in front of me that was on a spot even higher, about 20 meters away probably.
The sun was shining behind me and it caused a shadow of me on the wall. The color around the shadow was like a yellow/golden light and it was beautiful. In the shadow my arms where up in a very gracefull way, I myself was not doing anything but it was my shadow so it had to be me. It reminded me half of the position that Indian goddesses have in pictures sometimes, with the arms up and with gracefull hands.
I took my camera and made some pictures so that I would remember it later on.

While I did that, the wind was blowing and it went in a circulair like motion around me. Inside the wind there where lots of winged seeds, the seeds followed this circulair motion of the wind around me. It felt like an image of a fairytale or love story. It was beautiful and very peacefull.

On the wall I could also see the seeds circling around me, inside the golden light and around my shadow, which was still standing in this gracefull pretty way with the arms up. I just watched.. and felt amazed and how beautiful this moment was.

Next to me I could hear the sea, I felt the sun on my back, and I felt a tiny feeling of someone being close, a male friend. Someone that watched it too.
I decided that this person was probably on the ship.
I took some more pictures of what I saw on the wall and then the dream ended I think.

Today.. I was on my way to the doctor for an appointment. And everwhere I saw winged seeds, being blown in circles by the wind. At the moment lots of trees here drop the seeds. At the doctors place it turned out I had Tietze syndrome, which is pretty much innocent but it causes sharp pain on the chestbone, inside the shoulders etc and a feeling as if there is too much pressure on the chest.
It reminded me of my heart chakra, and I wondered about what it means to have Tietze syndrome energy wise. Because pains cause, lies directly on top of the place where the heart chakra is supposed to be.

I would be very happy if anyone has ideas about the meaning of this dream. And about Tietze syndrome.

(by the way, 'winged seeds' is just a term for the kinds of seeds that fall down slowly.. like feathers or leafs, they are called winged seeds)

In your dream, you believe you are standing on a harbour, close to the sea. In dream symbology a harbour represents safety in an emotional storm. After rest and repair, one must move out of the harbour again if growth is to be continued. The sea, is the sea of life. It is enormous emotional energy, which is to be respected and used wisely. It is the source of your life force.

The fact that you are currently in the harbour, may indicate, that for now at least, you have decided to take rest from your spiritual/emotional development. A pulling back for a time, from something you have invested a lot of time and energy into. The sea of life, can be very demanding on the psyche. It is good at times, to rest and take stock, evaluate what you have learned so far, before embarking on the next phase of your journey.

A ship/boat is your emotional self. If you were at its helm, it would indicate that you were in control. If it were drifting, it would indicate that you are not in charge of your emotions. But this ship is moored, and you are watching it from a distance. This to me might indicate a sense of detachment from yourself. A switching off to your emotions.

The wall, may indicate a barrier or obstruction that has been erected in your mind. Looking at the dream so far, with the symbology used. Something seems to have happened mentally, that is stopping you from moving forward. Have you made a conscious decision recently, to step back from a situation. One that was been meaningful to you on a emotional level? This could be about self preservation, a fear of being hurt. Or fear of doing the wrong thing. In the past, when this has happened, is this a coping mechanism you have used before?

The Sun is the Christ, God within. Light of God, eye of truth. Power, energy, clarity and knowledge. That which brings forth life, nurtures and sustains. The light of your being. So a very powerful symbol to see in your dream. The Sun is behind you, so you feel its reassuring warmth, presence on your back. So you are fully aware that it is there. But the fact that it is behind you, might indicate that this 'was' how you felt. But now facing a wall, are you encountering some doubts?

In front of you, you see your shadow silhouetted against the wall. A shadow in dream symbology represents fear, illusion that follows you. The unknown part of the self. We often fear what we don't understand and so do not face. By facing this shadow aspect of the self, befriending it, you will come to understand it. Thank you very much for your reply to my dream, I very much appreciate that.

This dream felt as a very positive dream for me, the feeling of the dream was very light and peacefull. It felt good. The see was calm and pretty, the surroundings where beautiful.
I more or less thought, that the meaning of it, might be good as well. But now that I read it, I am not sure.
It could very well be that in a dream, that feels peacefull and good, there are still symbols that point out problems and such.
So I am very happy with your views, it gives me thoughts that come from new angles. And that is also why I asked for a dream interpretation, because I wanted to look deeper into it. Sometimes its too easy to think in a certain direction, and too easy to forget other possible meanings.

I wanted to tell you that the man on the ship, is the person that I told you about in the chatroom. The person that I am in love with.

So when I wrote the dream down, my thoughts went to positive meanings. Just because 'I hope' it means that he is close in spirit, seeing me in a spiritual way next to just seeing my outside.
I so much hope that he will one day say that he feels connected to me as well, and that he wants to be with me as well. That this dream felt like a positive message for me.
Him being on the ship meant for me that he is still traveling, still wandering when it comes to deciding, still at a distance. But he is also looking my way, and what he sees is me surrounded by winged seeds and golden light etc. Its not a bad thing what he sees.
So I hoped it meant, that he sees my deeper self. Not only my insecure self.
The shadow did not feel like a dark dream symbol to me. Because the shadow had this lovely position, dancelike and pretty. It remined me of the shape of indian goddeses, and of the shapes they have.
I thought it meant that I do not see this in myself usually.
Every person is a god/goddess inside, in my belief. But I always completely ignore this idea when it comes to myself. I also do not see it in myself.
So seeing the shadow, being a goddess, seemed to be a symbol that was meant to remind me of my nature and everybodies nature.
It seemed to remind me that I am not 'less' then the man that I love is, we are both spiritual beings, both beautiful. Everybody is. So the shadow is then an unknown part of myself. But a positive one, not a negative one.

But dreams hold more layers of meaning, and I take yours to heart. Because it fits 'too'. You write about the harbor being a place to be safe from emotional storm. From spirituality, also.
Of course this is what I did concerning the chatroom, I did take a rest. So that could be another meaning/layer in the dream.
Also you write about the shadow in a more negative way. I thought about this for a while because it felt so positive.
But I thought about it to find out if there is any fear hidden in that dream symbol.
And there is. Not in the dream, the dream is positive. But I do fear to see myself in the way the shadow showed. A goddess. I see others in that way, but fear to see myself in that way.
It is part of me though.
Maybe it appeared as a shadow on a wall, because I deny it a little bit. Because of that I cannot fully see it, but then see it as a shadow instead. Not a negative shadow, its one that feels good. But a shadow anyway, not something that is 'full in view'.
So maybe I need to try not to be fearfull of fully accepting that I am, as other people are, a spiritual being that is beautiful. That I am no less then others, and that this part of me that I see as a shadow now.. is allowed to be seen fully, by myself. Accepted fully.
I hope I write it all down ok, its hard to put things in words.

The seeds seemed to hold different layers of meanings as well. What you write is what I thought about as well. Potential, new growth etc.
But also its connected to this man that I love. Because we often garden together and we do that in a spiritual way. Its a too long story to write it all down but the seeds (in reality) are heartshaped. They really exist and they drop down in my garden we well.
I once drew a small picture, of one of these seeds. It was a heart, with a lock inside. Ontop of the heart one twig was growing, with one leaf. Under it I wrote his name, then I picked up one of those seeds and kept it.
Somehow these seeds in the dream hold more meanings but I do not quite understand it completely.


I have given him the dream to read recently by the way I was scared to do it but did it anyway. And the result was that he became very happy. He said very enthusiastic that the dream made him very very happy. I do not know what meaning he attached to it. But it opened something up between us. Since then, everything feels more open again.

I am sorry that I write 'so much'. But this dream just holds so much for me. It seems to connect to so many different things.
Different things because it also seems to connect to my new physical problem. My pain on the chestbone. Its still here and its still hurting a lot. Its called Tietze syndrome, but because its right on top of the heart chakra.. it has to do with the heart chakra.
Because I drew that picture of a locked heart, and because the dream had so much to do with the heart.. it all seems connected to me.
But how to solve this puzzle.. I do not know.
The pain brings me down though, keeps me from my sleep and it makes me tired. Its a kind of arthritis I know now.
I hope it will heal at some point.

I can see how it has so much meaning to you. I always say, that ultimately 'we' the dreamer, knows more then anyone else what our dream means to us.

A seed is a symbol of potential. It shows that you have recognised an opportunity in your waking life. For you, this seed is the core of your hopes and dreams for love. The beginning of something that if nurtured properly, may grow to full bloom. It really touched me Bumble. You obviously have so much love to give, and see this seed of love as as a very precious thing in your life.
