There is a lot of talk on documentaries about what came before the so called big bang, the start of the universe. It is hard for our minds to imagine anything that has no beginning nor no end, Yet many people feel that a universe or something else came before the big bang. Now in spiritual terms, which includes God, we must think similar as God supposedly made the universe, so does God continually make universes every so often, where did all this begin, where does it all end.
It is probably the hardest question you can ask someone, whether that be a scientist or a spiritual person, as in both cases it comes down to belief as there are no pure facts, about what came before the universe or what was God doing before the universe existed, or how did God come into existence.
So back to the question who or what created God, or how did God come into existence? Or is everything eternal with no beginning nor no end?

Interesting question. But to know the answer probably wouldn't satisfy us entirely. But its also important to learn first what it takes to satisfy your self? But what if what is satisfying to you, may not be satisfying to God. But how are we to know God, if we are not to see him? Would seeing a perfect being give us so much comfort that we would see trials as nothing. That would be a good thing. But to be robotic like this is not pleasing to God either. God is perceived to us as perfect, always has been and always will be, never can die, never to have human like characteristics. Witch this also can be good. If God created the universe, humans, and the planet earth. Then what if he were to use all the space out in outer space to create one existing thing that could be touched and felt and lived on? It would be so great connecting everything that ever existed, Would you want humans to rule it? Would you trust the human race to have control over everything that ever was? If you said yes? Then it maybe that selfishness was apart of your answer. To only want to be served as a human and answered as a human, is loving the form human. God is not human.. Nor was he ever. It was said that jesus was god. But god was never jesus. So how can we understand that an all perfect something became an non perfect something? God being all mighty and powerful could handicap himself into the simple human with flesh and needs. The bible will talk about what God thinks of loving man. And to trust that after reading this may take you to higher levels above this earth. To rather be apart of the greatness instead of ruling it under the protection of god is more then child like. When God speaks to me in the bible, he calls us all his children. And even the most adult like humans are children on a daily basis. We are still connected to mother natures cord. We need our earth to grow food, and to give a rather safe dwelling to raise other humans. We need its h20 to cleanse us to wash away any thing that could threaten our healthy bodies. We need its gravity that is created from earths spinning core to stable our bodies and to create atmosphere so we may breath. All in witch only serves the human race. To know that we are on this planet is reassuring in its self. But god gave us the freedom of choice. But what does that mean? To love something that you have to learn to put aside everything that may be visible to the eye in order to understand is the greatest achievement ever known to man. But what is sin. Well its pretty much the opposite of loving god. If you are fee to do either and pick god over sin. Then the gift you think you gave to god is really your own. But to choose sin over god is not letting go of everything that is visible to the eye. Well the wages of sin is death. we must realize first that when we die, everything that ever was visible to us, we no long have the eyes or the mind to perceive it. All in all, God is getting us to the place that he wants us to be, and that is for us to be apart of him. Its hard to believe that we only have one chance when everywhere in the bible after getting to know god, he will always take us to one place. You say i thought heaven or hell? If god is great, then heaven is great, if hell isnt great then the devil isnt great. But you say god created all things that are good. what about the devil. did he create the devil. Yes. as soon as he gave us the freedom of choice. the devil created itself out of that. What your choices are. are apart of your character. What your character is is the soul you become When we pass on, we are still our character that may be still in the process of wanting to make humanly choices. Thats the fear god had when he warned us about loving man. So now. would you want to be apart of the greatness? or would you want to rule it? If it didnt answer your question. But moved your thought into a new direction. then the answer may be, to research, and to understand before making any accusations. Not making accusations is apart of being apart of everything witch we are =]

This is a very interesting question, but I agree a very difficult one to answer.
According to the standard theory, our universe sprang into existence as "singularity" around 13.7 billion years ago. Our universe is thought to have begun as an infinitesimally small, infinitely hot, infinitely dense, 'something' - the scientists call it a 'singularity'. Where did it come from? We don't know. Why did it appear? We don't know.
In terms of time, I would say 13.7 billion years, is not that long. Just because we do not know, why or how this singularity occurred, or from where its energy source came from, does not alter the fact that it happened. For all our advances in so many area's of science, I think we are still tiny babies, in terms of understanding the wonders of the universe and the origins of the existence of life.
I believe, God is the creator energy. I believe, even if you put a man on a desert island, isolate him from all living things, he would still find within himself a desire, a need to commune spiritually. I believe, it is something that is imprinted upon our psyche. It is a fundamental need. As strong, if not stronger, then the self survival instinct.
I believe we are spiritual energetic beings as well as physically human beings. It is our spiritual connection, that drives us to connect to and commune with a divine source. Its instinctive. Birds migrate. For their first journey, they follow their inner radar, they follow the magnetic poles, this is how they find their way. I feel human beings are like this. Metaphorically speaking, God is the magnetic pole, and we are drawn to him by our inner radar.
I don't think we can intellectualise it, it just is. I just think some people feel that signal stronger then others. Thus we see the varying degree's in which people respond to the call or need of a spiritual life. Sometimes, I think in our desire to validate our beliefs, we worry overly about proof. Are we saying if we don't have the answers, then it doesn't exist!
I personally just accept that just because I don't understand something, it does not negate it. Consider the possibility, that our minds could simply not cope with it, or the concept of it. Because at our current evolutionary stage of life, it is completely beyond our understanding. Having nothing comparable to relate it to.
I believe that God is the creator, I believe that God is Eternal. I feel these things in my heart. I believe, that we are but a tiny aspect of the wonder that is God. I trust, that I know all I need to know at this time.
These are just my thoughts. I would love to hear what others think.
Love and light Kaz

Fascinating subject, Leon Lindae, Gardondolls and Kaz. To my understanding Cosmic consciousness implies the recognition of a First Cause, the one and only uncaused reality. God, the Universal Father.
We have the concept of the I AM and is a philosophic conception which we, the time-bound, space-fettered, finite mind of man make to the impossibility of creature comprehension of eternity existences — nonbeginning, nonending realities and relationships. To us, time-space creatures, all things must have a beginning save only the ONE uncaused — the primeval cause of causes. Therefore do we conceptualize this philosophic value-level as the I AM that there never was a time when the I AM was not.
To my understanding, energy proceeds from Paradise, fashioned after the divine order. Energy — pure energy — partakes of the nature of the divine organization, and is in essence a manifestation of the uncaused Cause — the Universal Father; and without the Father would not anything exist that does exist.
To advocate the omnificence of primal Deity would be equal to disenfranchising millions of Creator Sons of Paradise, not to mention the innumerable hosts of various other orders of concurring creative assistants. I postulate that there is but one uncaused Cause in the whole universe. All other causes are derivatives of this one First Great Source and Center. And none of this philosophy does any discredit to the free-willness of the myriads of the children of Deity scattered through a vast universe.
In my view, Gods is Omnipotent but chooses not to be Omnificent , In other words, He creates Celestial entities with creative powers. Remember Leon when the prophet said: " You, God, are alone; there is none beside you. You have created the heaven and the heaven of heavens, with all their hosts; you preserve and control them. By the Sons of God were the universes made”.
To my comprehension, force, energy derived from self-existent Deity is in itself ever existent. Force-energy is imperishable, indestructible; these manifestations of the Infinite may be subject to unlimited transmutation, endless transformation, and eternal metamorphosis; but in no sense or degree, not even to the slightest imaginable extent, could they or ever shall they suffer extinction. But energy, though springing from the Infinite, is not infinitely manifest; there are outer limits to the presently conceived universe as I comprehend it. Energy is eternal but not infinite. We do not fully comprehend the almost endless changes to which physical energy may be subject.

The question assumes (or perhaps it doesn't) linearity of time. If time is non-linear, then perhaps there is no is beginning and no end, or rather they are one and the same. And so before God there was God. And after God there too is also God. And though we are men, we are also part of God. We can choose to see beyond, or we can see that which is front of us, though they are very much the same.

At least you got us thinking leon.....well lets see...according to the bible....god created adam and eve...they had 2 sons...cain and abel...cain killed abel...then went forth and multiplyed....who with....is anyones guess.....so god came before man if we follow that book.
To answer your question, we have to assume there is a god.......is god a life form, similar to us but far more evolved...or is god the collective energy emitted by us........ if so, how did we get here
Maybe this is a time when we just have to accept and not question, for we will never know the answer anyway...we can only speculate
.Enjoyed mulling it over though...thanks

If man knew what initiated God, then man would ask what created that which created God. Put your mind/thoughts/meditations on growth/thankfulness and trust you will have all the knowing you or anyone else needs.
Abundant blessings to you all.

When we think of God we have been taught to think in a linear sense of time. God was first (alpha) then He created worlds, then He created man, and somewhere in the future He will be the end (omega), etc. Thinking this way forces us to put some action before a result so something had to cause God. But if we can think of God in a non-linear manner,in the Eternal Now according to Tolle, then we can see God as existing and not existing at the same time. This allows God to be a constant state of creating/recreating. This frees us from the fear of time because as spiritual beings we are also a part of this continual process. Just saying.
