I have this set of great little cards with affirmations on them… I used to get my clients, family, and friends to pick one every time they came to visit. Having finally unpacked most of my things here, I came across them the other day. I thought it might be nice to pick one each day for the group.
We can each share what it means to us … so here goes today’s affirmation.
Listen to your heart and follow its guidance.
Hmmm… this one is pretty straight forward. Seems simple enough but how often do we do just that? I do try to do it on a constant basis… but have to admit there are times where ego still steps in my way. So, let’s start small, for today I will listen to my heart and follow its guidance… I will be mindful today to listen to my heart… and I will be diligent about following its guidance. Will check in later and let you know how it went.

Dear Silvia, What a lovely idea. I for one shall look forward with great interest to the daily affirmations. You would think, listening to the heart and following its guidance, would be quite straight forward. But you and I both know, that often the ego, fear or the opinions of others often get in the way. So I take from this affirmation,that from this day forward, I will follow my heart and listen to its guidance. Without fear, without being influenced by anyone else. I will have confidence, in my own ability to know what is right for me. I have a good heart and I must learn to have faith and self belief, that I am my own guide on life's highway. Thank you Kaz, let's hope this catches on...  Today's Affirmation is : You are a great manifester.Just what does that mean? Simply it takes us to the Law of Attraction or more basically what we think we create. So, now is the time to look at what we think about... what are we creating and attracting in our lives. Allow yourself to play more! We are children of God. So as children we should play. We should enjoy life. This one is difficult for many of us, as we are taught that adults don't play... instead we have to work, and provide for our families, etc... we tend to throw playing out the window... and some don't even let their own children play... let's all give ourselves permission to play... do something that you haven't done in a long long time today and see how it feels. Have to admit Silvia...that my play ended up as child's play with my grandson. He expects me to be able to join in with whatever he undertakes, but he does give me some slack due to my "age" and inability to run or crawl about on the ground with him. (lol). However, we were able to have a game of hide and seek...something that I had not "played" for years! His giggles were infectious...I think that more of us should remember how we felt as children--free from daily cares. It lightens your heart.

That's great Alynn! Play can take on any form really as long as we enjoy ourselves and let go and laugh a little. My form of play lately has been playing with my cats with sting and boxes... they love them both so much...and bring laughter and joy to our hearts everyday. I keep threatening I'm going to video tape them one day... lol still haven't done it. Keep on playing! God bless, Silvia |

Thank you for putting these affirmations up for us to read floraloak. I have been reading them each day. Allow yourself to play, came at a good time for me. Made me realise I had been taking life to seriously and had not had fun in a while. Looking forward to todays. Blessings Ruby |

Thank you Ruby for your feedback. Is good to know that people are reading them and applying them to their lives. I often find that the right one shows up exactly when it's needed... curious how that happens huh? Today's affirmation is: Reclaim your power and regain your freedom! Hmmm... this one's a good one... we're so good at giving away our power to others... aren't we all my fellow door mats. Let's for today... reclaim our power... Dear Silvia, It made me think about the way we give away our power, without thinking of the long term consequences. People tend to associate this with big things, for example.. Choosing not to vote, being disillusioned with their government or its policies. So deciding to show their disapproval by not voting. Or wrongfully feeling one person, can not make a difference. Yet I bet, if all those people decided to vote, they would make a difference. The other extreme is how every day people allow others to make decisions for them. On one level, people may moan about another speaking for them, but if they were honest, I bet many do it to relieve them of the burden of responsibility. Plus they can always blame someone else, if it goes wrong. One day though, people wake up, and they realise, that by allowing others to take control, to take away their personal responsibility, its very damaging. Of course there are those who are in manipulative controlling relationships. Have no choice. These people to have to wake up and realise, that its only they who can stop it. Though making big decisions, is a responsibility, its an important part of maturing as a person, growing up. Its something I've thought about a lot lately. Thank you for sharing this Silvia. Yes Kaz, I agree...it is about growing up and taking responsibility for our choices... we make choices every moment of our lives... many of which we make unconsciously... the ones we've become conditioned to... I believe it is those that we should be paying attention to more so than the big ones... because it's those little one that pave the way to those big ones like voting or not. hmmm... so let's see what the next affirmation is... pick a card... any card... And the card says.... Forgive yourself & forgiveness of others will follow. Whoa! How true this is...all too often we are so fixated on forgiving others... that we forget about the role we played in the situation... many don't even think they have anything to forgive themselves for...as they're too busy having that internal 'blame game' argument within themselves... forgiving ourselves in some cases can be as simple as forgiving ourselves to allowing the situation to take place in the first place... it's not always 'he/she did this to me' and 'we didn't do anything'... hehe.. in fact... the 'we didn't do anything' might be just the thing we have to forgive ourselves for... anyway.. is something to think about... Have you forgiven yourself today? If so... what for... If not... why not? I look forward to hearing your responses... God bless, Silvia |
