I am very open minded and take people as I find them, whatever religion, belief or race they might be.
Yet I see so many people, who are ignorant towards others beliefs, people who dislike others just because they are not like themselves. Why all the hatred, when surely if everyone dropped their ego and their spiritual pride, they would be able to live in harmony.
Why fight each other, when in reality we need each other, as the alternative is just more violence, intolerance and conflict.
The question is can we all live together in harmony, and if so how?

I wish it were but I don’t think it is possible to live together in total harmony; because everyone has a different nature. Some are respectful, understanding and open-minded, some are not. In life every concept exists with its complementary opposite. I really think that we should accept this reality and find the harmony in opposites. The negative part will always exist. If we could accept it and love them despite everything, the world would be a better place

Hello Leon, I believe it is possible for all faiths to live in harmony side by side. All that is needed is tolerance and respect for the beliefs of others. Ultimately, I only see the commonalities in different spiritual beliefs, at their core, is Truth, Love and Compassion. This can be said, for Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and many others. The reason some people do not get along with each other, in my opinion, is down to their own personalities. There are good and bad people in the world. That's the sad fact. Religion is just something they use, to disagree about. But if it wasn't religion, it would be something else. I love my fellow man, and as far as I am concerned, they can follow whatever religious path they want. As long as it makes them happy and fulfills them spiritually. Who are any of us to say our way is the only way. Its not what religion you are, its what kind of a person you are and how you live your life that counts. I don't see us as a world made up of many countries and different religions. I see us as humanity, one people, one world.. As you have said, we NEED each other. Love and light Kaz

It is possible Leon. I am Pagan, my parents were Catholic. My children are christian...one Catholic and one looking into becoming Catholic and my other is Southern Baptist. I have always told my children that religion is not what makes us us. It is simply a path that makes us feel peaceful and a place to settle out faith. My family know I am Pagan, my children have watched me when I have preformed rituals and none of them have said I followed a bad path or were negative to me because of my chosen path. I have always followed a strong belief that no person can nor should make a religious decision for another. Even our children. We should encourage them to look at different faiths and above all else be understanding that just because we don't follow it or even understand it, it is that other persons deep belief and therefore it matters and should be looked upon with respect. I believe that there is only 1 higher power and no matter what religion we follow it is the same higher power. It is just the way we pray and the difference in how we preform our rituals during prayers that seperates us. Therefore I believe we should love one another no matter what and respect each other their own choice. Anothers religious choice does not effect our lives in any way, shape or form. So I don't understand why all the hate others can hold against another. Closed minded and very small in their thinking.

It's a good question Leon and the answer is yes I do believe we can It can be hard to build good relationships with people when your religion tells you that the way others live their life is against God... if people can see past the words written and treat people as they hope to be treated themselves ... and yet still be inspired and moved by the messages of their faith .. I think we'll all be much closer to God and a place we all can call home... HC
