Hello,
I thought I would write a bit about my personal faith. What I believe and how that belief is connected to the earth and universe.
Paganism is pretty much any faith that believes in more then 1 god. But something many do not know is that most Pagans only believe in 1 god.
The One. The One is the higher power. The source, the creator of all.
You have heard how Pagans pray to a God and Goddess. These 2 Gods are the male / female aspects of The One.
An conscious energy that is both male and female. We break it down into 2 beings and what those being do for us.
The female aspect gave birth to the universe and all within it including the earth and all living things on it. It gave birth to all stars and planets, to the sea's and oceans. To the clouds, tree's etc...
It carried us, fed us and kept us in the warmth of its bosom.
The male aspect, fertilizes everything in the universe making it possible for new life, the new planets and stars. The expansion of the universe etc...
Rain is the male aspects seed. Without rain, everything shrivels and dies and no rebirth or growth can exist.
The male aspect is the hunter for and protector of all living things.
We then break these 2 aspects of the whole down further and give them roles beyond mother and father.
We give them names and those names govern the seasons. Rule at planting time, harvest time, birth of living things at spring and death of summer with winter when all nature dies and waits for rebirth in spring.
We see the father in the stag, in the oceans and rivers and we see the mother in the green fields, forests and mountains.
Pagans believe that all life is sacred. That life should be reveled as children of our creator. To destroy life is to destroy ourselves and the bond we hold with our creator.
In Paganism we do not believe in sacrificing life in honour of the creator. We honour the creator by caring for all life.
Our church is the forests, fields, mountains and beaches. To stand in nature is to stand beside our creator.
We do not have any laws or rules except for 1 and that is to harm none. This includes ourselves.
It is not our place to seek revenge against those that harm us, that is to the father, our protector to seek.
The mother and father provide all we need to live. All we need do is ask for their help.
We use rituals such as candles, fire and chants to speak to the creator. These are only tools we use to help us connect. Not unlike meditation and prayer. Both of those we also use.
Paganism is a very beautiful path.
One myth that a lot of people believe about Paganism is that we communicate with or pray to Satan, Lucifer or the Devil. This is so untrue.
In Paganism we do not believe in the Devil, Fallen Angels or demonic beings. We do not have Blood rituals or sacrifice babies, animals or people.
We do not harm people, that is against our law, against our belief.
We do not cause famines, droughts, natural disasters or paranormal disasters.
We are people just like everyone else. We are not perfect as no one is. We make mistakes too. We are human beings who believe in a different spiritual path.
We are your brothers and sisters and you are ours.
