Hi my dearest friends,
I really wonder alot when i should give up on my dreams in my life?!
How can i know if my dreams is really what god wants it for me or not? am really working as much as i can to pursue my goals in life but in each step i take in my plan it seems to be harder and i go back to the first step.
i dont know if it a lack of my plan or efforts or its just that god has other plans for me?? sometimes i feel that am wasting my time in a dream that will never come true and that make me feel very depressed.
looking forward to read ur comments my friends God Bless

Hello Lady, I would say never give up on your dreams.. I believe that the harder the journey the more worthwhile the goal is at the end. It is said, that each mountain we climb, each obstacle we overcome, helps to strengthen our will and build our character. With each setback, we learn more and more about ourselves. If something is difficult, we look at ways to add to our skills and knowledge that will help us. There is a lovely little story on our forum called 'The Story Of The Tea Cup', it illustrates the point I am trying to make much more eloquently then I can. There is a lovely poem that I have heard many times, and it really helps me when I feel disheartened.
"When things go wrong as they sometimes will; When the road you're trudging seems all uphill; When the funds are low, and the debts are high And you want to smile, but have to sigh; When care is pressing you down a bit- Rest if you must, but do not quit. Success is failure turned inside out; The silver tint of the clouds of doubt; And you can never tell how close you are It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit- It's when things go wrong that you must not quit." So keep on going Lady, each corner you turn in life, brings you closer to your dreams. Love and light Kaz

Hi Lady, I agree with Kaz... never give up on your dream. However, I will say allow God in your plan; let go of how you expect things to happen for rarely do things go the way we plan. God always has a plan greater than we have for ourselves... To give you an example... when I was growing up I always wanted to be a teacher... that was my dream... however, as I got older and closer to that dream many other things (unforeseeable to me) had been coming into play, to the point that I gave up on that dream and settled for a job/career that I surely didn't dream about... as the years went by... within that place of work I was given the opportunity to 'teach' and continued to do so for many yrs... so in the end I did become a teacher... I was not teaching children... as I thought and expected to... but rather I was teaching adults... my peers... which when you think of it... when I was a child dreaming to be a teacher... who was I going to teach?... other kids of course... my peers So, again.. let go of your expectations of how things should happen... and let God guide you to the dream with his plan... co-creation with God is so much more rewarding than creating by yourself. I hope this helps, God bless, Silvia

I agree with the advise already shared here by Kaz and Silvia ... keep dreaming it's what makes you ... so special
In life we can become frustrated that things don't happen when we expect them to... we doubt whether it was ever meant to be... we second guess things and before we know it have already thought of all the possible reasons why we shouldn't have it anyway... it is those feelings that keep us from our dreams..

Hi there I agree - never give up on your dreams. I dreamt of travelling the world but through life's little journey that is looking less and less like it will happen. So I have resigned myself to continue with that dream in the next life maybe. In the meantime I can travel in other ways than which I initially thought - by tv, movies, use of the web. I travel the world by talking to people right here on chat. So perhaps try to stop setting limits to your dreams. Dream broader. Detach from limited expectations.
Another example - I had a friend who dreamt of being a teacher. At times she was upset because she thought she had not fulfilled that dream. What she didn't realise was that she was a teacher every day of her life. She raised a family and taught them each and every day. She was involved in different community organisations and taught all she came in contact about love, caring, and compassion.
I dreamt of being rich. I don't have any money but I am rich beyond measure. I dreamt of having a perfect family and only saw the riches I have once I let go of my own imperfect expectations.
I dreamt of being a great singer. At times I am - in the shower perhaps - in my own imaginings - but to believe for an instant that I really truly am - is magic.
Never let go of your dreams. Never let go of hope.

Oh and also ................
Make yourself a great huge long enormous big list of all things you have dreamt of that have come true.
There are millions.
Congratulate yourself on those and realise how much you have accomplished.
We dream every day - of tiny little things perhaps but dreams none the less - and we make so many of them come true.
The trick is to realise it and focus more on that side of the equation.

yes. never give up!! Winston Churchill famos 9 word speech -
He was invited give a motivation speech to some sort of students. He walked in, up to the podium, looked around, took his cigar out his mouth and very slowly said "Never give up". He paused, looked around the room, paused some more then said "Never give up!" He paused again, looked around at the baffled students then he bellowed "NEVER GIVE UP!" and walked off. i think teh message is clear <3
