I am writing to see if you can shed some light on something that confounds my rational mind.
It is to do with taking energy from other people. It happens to me several times a week. It involves a feeling of an energy vacuum or hole appearing in my chest, and a corresponding gain of energy from the nearest person. This usually results in them taking a sudden intake of breath, or suddenly coughing. It starts as an unconscious process (I can never initiate it myself), where the energy vacuum appears in my chest, but continues as a conscious process, where I choose to continue with this 'grab' of energy.
So, in effect, I can cause people to lose their breath, and breath in suddenly, or suddenly cough, all because of this channel that occurs.
I have tried searching Google for any clues to see what this, and have only found a website about energy vampires. That website wasn't accurately describing what happens for me.
This phenomenon can't be interpreted through physics or science, which is why I am writing to you, to see if you can explain what is happening, why it is happening, and to point me in the right direction to learn more about things which can't be described by the rational mind and science.
I appreciate any help you can provide.

Hello srd, I read your post with great interest. I don't think what you are experiencing is taking away the energy or breath from another person. It feels to me more of an opening of your auric field and being very aware of connecting with the energy or auric field of another. I don't think its possible to steal away the breath of another person. My understanding of Psychic Vampires is that it is more that they drain a person's energy by emotional neediness, then by physically sucking the energy away. For example, if you spend time with another person, they are supporting you emotionally, because you are feeling down, depressed and low in energy. You walk away from this exchange feeling better, more uplifted, but your friend is left feeling drained emotionally and physically. Maybe I could suggest, that you use an auric shield to strengthen and protect your own aura. It will also protect your aura from being affected by the energies or aura of another person. I like to use this visualisation. See yourself completely enveloped in a white energy or light energy and visualize it hardening like an egg. It is called the auric egg protection and I find it to be simple and very affective. I hope this helps srd.. Love and light Kaz

I hear cats can steal another's breath/energy. This is a saying in the United States' Southern region.

Sounds like an old wives tale keenen... it's more like maybe the cats at the time slept too close to the person... and with all that hair... especially if the cat is long haired variety... could smoother the person... not steal their breathe/energy....the people of the day likely walked in at the time the cat was trying to wake the person... Cats are sensitive... but they're not thieves...let's not give into mistaken perceptions from the past.

I don't think its possible to steal away the breath of another person. My understanding of Psychic Vampires is that it is more that they drain a person's energy by emotional neediness, then by physically sucking the energy away. The symptom only involves the feeling of a quick 'energetic' outreach to another person, and then they take a sudden breath inwards. I guess this doesn't necessarily mean I am taking their breath. A specific work colleague and my nephew will make what sounds like a mocking sucking sound whenever they sense I am reaching out to them. There is nothing in my physical actions which would provoke this, and I don't see/hear them doing it around anyone else. I don't think I am particularly needy, and this symptom happens in a second or less, and does not occur over an extended period.

In my experience the notion of psychic vampires is total mythology, but hey if you want to buy into that go for it.
