Hello caring family Do you share your home with a special fur of feathered friend? If so, how has this wonderful relationship enriched your life? I love all of God's creatures, without exception, and I am thrilled to share my home with my hillarious cat Mayo. My boyfriend and I visited an animal shelter a few years ago after losing our sweet cat Caramel. He was a little over 16, when he passed away on a snowy December 28th. We still had Artsie, our eternal baby cat, that couldn't bear living without another brother or sister. We promptly went to find him a companion on the first day of that New Year. Lo and Behold......Mayo ;D The lady at the shelter told us that Mayo had tried to escape his cage, while she was cleaning it, moments before we arrived. I told her that he knew that his new parents were about to walk in the door, any minute. I love him to bits, he is loving, and funnier than any other friend before him ;D Artsie passed away last April 3rd. He would have been 16 years old this past November. Mayo's cool about it, but then again, he's cool about everything If you have any stories to share, please do I'll tell you more about Mayo in another post Fluffy, furry, feathery Hugs to All

My friend, so nice to hear your story...I lost two of my beautiful cats to F.I.V. which is a cat version of aids....so sad, my poor Tigger who was also a tiny rescue kitten, whom we had for ten years, grew very thin, lost nearly all his red blood cells and had to be put to sleep, he just couldnt stand up....it makes me so sad to think of it, but he had a wonderful life with us, and used to have his dinner up on the work surface in the kitchen, whilst helping me to make dinner, by standing in the mashed potatoes and drooling over the roast chicken, he is the only cat I know that used to bash the brusselsprouts around and then eat them!! We had another cat who was rescued called Albert, and he was a wonderful ginger and white boy who was proud and playful and totally flummoxed by snow...we rescued him from cornwall where he had never seen snow and brought him to scotland where he was stunned to see these amazing white things falling out of the sky!! he used to bash them on the way down! He too sadly had FIV and had to be put down....our last remaining boy is Bob and he was rescued too...he is on a diet right now which he most definitely does NOT like, because he is the shape of a small barrel....he loves chicken, tuna, and especially all things fishy like sardines and pilchards...but he cant have any...sometimes we cheat and give him some, but he just keeps looking for more and would never lose weight...he has a condition which produces crystals in his urine and blocks him up so he cant pee, so we have to be very careful he doesnt get overweight...and monitor his progress....he is about 11 so pretty fit....when he sits on your knee, your legs go numb within half an hour!!! but we love him to bits.
thanks for sharing, Kerry, so kind.
Love and Light Lizzie xx

Hi. Reading your story Liz reminds me of our cat that we had called Bing-Bong (Gregory really) he had crystals we found him collapsed and he was dying, we rushed to the vet and the vet didn't hold out any hope for him, his kidney test was of the chart. So I asked Archangel Raphael to help. The next day Bing-Bong had recoverd. The vet said in all his 30yrs as a vet he'd never seen such a quick recovery. Then we had Flower, he was w tom cat that looked like a skittle, very nervy cat. We had Mr Yogi-Yo he was like the Lesley Phillips in the cat world & then we had Maureen who was very sassy! She loved the boy's. Now we have Red, and he spends his life down the bin eating tissue's & T-bags! eeewwwww...
I couldn't be without my animals, but when we moved we had to re-home the cats so we're in privated rented. I miss them so much, god bless them.xxx

Hello Kerry,
Yes, I too share my home with a "Menagerie"..lol
I have two Male cats the eldest being a huge boy black and white called Kasper and the second being a long skinny Ginger cat called Willow, who looks as if he has never had a square meal in his life, but never stops eating.
The girls are my dogs, the eldest at 7 being Honey my beautiful girl a Golden Retriever, who my husband calls the "Rug." She is often to be found by our feet. Honey loves other dogs, but is nervous of humans, we had her from a farm in South Wales, where they were kept in a converted Pig sty. The guy who looked after them, seemed ok, but the minute he walked in there, they were all absolutely terrified, and hid under each other. We chose Honey because, she got into her fathers pen, and became playful, giving us an idea of her true nature. We took her home and it was three days before she eat anything. The vet said she had to get used to us humans, and we had to become part of her pack..in the end she ended up sleeping with me, and we have been constant companions ever since. She is my Girl. The other dog is a gorgeous Liver and white Springer Spaniel Seren, (which is Welsh for star). We call her Seren the Destroyer, as in the five months we had her, she has chewed up all of our kitchen flooring. Chewed my chef's island in the kitchen. Wrecked the cat flap by charging thru it even though its not meant for her. We now have a gaping hole in the door, that my husband refuses to close off with a new cat flap until he is sure, she is too big for it. Having no desire to have to replace it with another one. Because we cannot close it, we seem to have many nocturnal visits from half the mice fraternity in the neighborhood. They must have a death wish as we have two very predatory cats. Seren also has two other rather endearing qualities..lol she says tongue in cheek. One is that she constantly wee's herself. She wees when she is excited, she wees when you tell her off, she wees constantly. My carpets are ruined..and the other thing is that when she does go out, if she finds any dog dirt, she likes to dine on it...MMM MMM. So when she comes in and has tongue hanging out for cuddles, bad breath..don't talk...Why oh Why, I hear you cry, did she have this dog. Well the answer to this is, easy... I STARTED WORK AT A VETS...lol..fatal. The first week I was there, I was told about this poor little spaniel all alone, last in the litter. She has unusual marking with one whole brown leg. Free to a good home. Well, no she wasn't free to a good home, having seen her and fallen in love with this cute little dog, nearly five months old. Was told they wanted £100 for her, which my husband grudgingly parted with as an early birthday present he said. The few weeks house training is still on going..!! But the plus side is, we love her in spite of her terrible lack of restraint in the toilet department and her very unsavory habits. Honey absolutely adores her, and is scampering around like a young dog. So what can I do..oh the joys of animal parent hood..lol
Oh, yes, and there is Angelina, my sons sole surviving hamster. We bought her and her sister Betty for Sebastian for his birthday. Thinking that at 11 he would far better benefit from looking after two little pets of his own, rather then ANOTHER computer game. He adored them, but sadly, Willow managed to get into Seb's room, wacked Betty's ball of her cage, and pounced. Seb witnessed the deed and was very upset. Thankfully, we managed to rescue Betty from the Jaws as it were. But not in time to save her. Having explained, that Willows murderous actions were simply his nature, and not homicidal tendencies, we managed to persuade Seb not to choke him, when our backs were turned..lol
But yes Kerry, they may cost me a fortune, my house is wrecked, but I wouldn't be without my little friends either. I must be mad..lol
Lots of love Kaz

Hi there. I'm new to this site and find it very confusing, how do I leave a message on the board??? I read about the cats. I have three little girls, Millie, Maya and Tess (formerly not from D'Urbervilles) but moody all the same. I love em to bits and feel deeply thankful for all the love they give and for the fact that I've got miniature panthers roaming my home.
