A Prayer For Hope

Dear Lord God, my heavenly Father, I beg you to grant me the gift of hope. My life is dark and full of sorrow. There seems nothing to look forward to but sadness.
Show me that life has duties and many pleasures still waiting for me. Revive within me the desire to live.

Plant hope in my heart, that despair may vanish as the dew before the sun. I know all good things come from you, and you have promised to give them to your children who try to serve you.

Let the hope of happiness in the world, come to brighten my way.

I ask this in Jesus' name.

I bought a book the other day called Crossing the threshold of hope. Some times we need to go beyond all barriers and boundaries that we have ever faced before. Crossing this threshold keeps hope in our hearts and allows us to achieve whatever we believe in. Whatever we believe truly in our hearts will come true as long as we have hope and belief in ourselves and in god. Cross that threshold my friends, don't be put off by what limitations others around you put on you. Or the limitations you put on yourself. You may have learned one way of thinking. I am asking you to look again. Please do not deny what is in your hearts by following old beliefs that have only brought you sorrow. Hold hope in your hearts and live with that hope burning brightly and god will bless you.

Wonderful words, Leon....I have a saying I always pass on to others....LIFE IS PERSPECTIVE...when you get your perspective right, everything else simply slots into place...i.e. from the perspective of a poor man, £10 is a lot of money, from the perspective of a rich man £1000 is not much....I always remember my boss telling me that he won £1000 on the lottery, a week later when I asked him what he did with the money, he said "what money" - he really didnt care that he had won so much when others had nothing.....Hope springs eternal, when your perspective is right.

Hi Leon, There was a few words that I read in a book (can't remember which one, got so many!) But it say's to look at what we have acheived so far. I find this gives a huge lift to my faith when Im feeling lost. Sometimes life does seem dark & saddend, but we are divine sparks, made by our creator, he would only want us to be happy & a life full of love. Sometimes we get that light & love from not who or what we expect or want but from somewhere different. God never lets us down.xxx
