When we dream about our parents, our father and mother, it has meanings on two levels. On one level, they are older, wiser, male and female aspects of ourselves. On another level, it can express a need in you for familial contact. A desire to strengthen family ties and roots. You may be feeling insecure in yourself, and want the reassurance of your family around you, especially your mother and father.
Your parents have bought you a piece of land with two houses on it. Houses are symbolic of you, your psyche. The size of each house, and the rooms in the house represent your inner world, and each room a different aspect of your persona. The two houses, may indicate that you may be feeling uncertain about your own capabilities, the smaller house representing your world as being restricted or you are not making the most of your abilities. The larger house is potential, your inner world, being much bigger and full of untapped ideas, that you do not feel confident enough to embrace.
You feel unsure, even afraid of this bigger house, sometimes, we are afraid to move forward and step out of our comfort zones, again, this could be due to a feeling of low self esteem, or fear of the unknown, the future. You feel safe, in your little house, in your smaller world.
In dreams the Dragon, is a very powerful archetype or symbol..
The dragon sometimes guards the entrance to a cave full of treasure. It symbolises the fears that we must overcome before we can realize the true self. Sometimes the dragon can represent a guardian to the spirit This does make sense if you think of it in terms of your anxiety and fear in this bigger house, as I have said earlier, being afraid of your own abilities, or a reluctance through lack of confidence, self doubt, to move forward and start to develop or discover your own abilities. In reality, the Dragon, is a not a monster to be feared, but a very powerful guide, something that is trying to help you discover, 'your hidden treasure'.. Often in dreams our fears, become clothed in the guise of monsters or bogey men..in dream symbology, the colours of Black mean Black symbolizes the unknown, unconscious, danger, mystery. The colour Red means Red is an indication of raw energy, force, vigor, intense passion, aggression, power, courage and passion. The color red has deep emotional and spiritual connotations. Consider the phrase "seeing red" to denote anger. Your dragon has these very powerful colours and in light of your fear and what we have discussed about suppressing abilities or the ability to deal with change or moving forward, does make sense.
The child in your dream, is you, the Innocent, but fearful aspect to you psyche, which in this dream seems to come very much to the fore. The baby, is then referred to as being something that would have been ten years old, this maybe an idea or concept you have had in the past that was never allowed to develop and you feel a sense of loss connected to this. You say in your dream that you woke up and told your husband about the dream..but in reality you must have had what is called a 'False Awakening'. On another level, it may indicate that you are trying to tell your husband something that is very important to you, but you are unable to get this message through to him. Maybe you are not communicating your true feelings, or feel unable to express your needs to him. Or he isn't listening..there may be many reasons behind this, or non..again, only you know the answer to this..
