This is just a thought...something i felt like saying...
To me a dream has many meanings.
There is the dreams that come to us throw spirits, guides and past love ones. those to me are dreams that are hard to understand and the ones that scare us...but when you learn what they mean. They are mostly just trying to send us down the right path or make us understand what we are feeling, so we can fix it.
Then there is the dreams that are really taking us out of our body's. the one that we all wish we could do a lot and go where ever we want to...those are the fun ones...
then there is the dreams of our loved ones that come to us to comfort us...To let us know they are all right..
Dreams to me are so important and i have learn this lately. I don't want to learn about them in books, because then those are others interpations. I feel that we all need to learn from our own enter voice or intutions and/or with our help from our spirit guides...friends help to without even knowing it. I think that the best way in life to learn something is with experiments.
but dreams to me are one of the best ways to look for answers...
remember that this is only my thoughts. Deanna

I agree,Dea,dreams are one of the best ways to look for answers. I believe that we are being shown alot of different things during our nightly sojourns. Personally I believe that we are travelling to other dimensions or other places of existence, probably because as multi-celled spirit beings we are capable of several simultaneous incarnations at one time and we could be dreaming about our other realities.(Ex.Ever have a conversation in a dream with someone that you don't know, yet in the dream you know them very well?) That because in your other reality, you do know them well. Dreams can mean other things as well though.Just like you pointed out, they could very well be symbolic of working out some problem solving. Also, quite often our guides speak to us when we are in the sleeping state to give us information. A person can quite often interpret their own dreams by recognizing what the symbols in the dreams represent to them personally. GOD bless Grace

Hi Dea and Grace,
I agree with you both our dream time is invaluable to us.
When we are asleep our conscious minds let go of their control over us.
When we are asleep, any anxieties that we have pushed to the back of our minds can bubble up to the surface. This can manifest itself in dreams in which we act out or experience situations that we find difficult to face in our waking time. By acting out scenario's in which we face our fears, it allows us to slowly become desensitised to them, or to face them.
It is uncanny how the symbolism in dreams reflects accurately waking life situations, often providing insight or clues, on how to deal with them.
Flying dreams, give a sense of freedom and also often indicate an ability to rise above things and maybe see more clearly what needs to be done.
For those of us that do not have the ability to hear or see spirit, our dream time provides an opportunity for spirit to communicate with us. The unconscious mind, is much more receptive to this type of communication, opening a doorway that is in our waking hours closed. That is why many report seeing loved ones who have departed to spirit, coming to visit them in their dreams to reassure them, that all is well, that they are loved and missed.
Astral travel, is an event that can occur in sleeping hours, or just prior to falling asleep. Again, the body is relaxed and receptive. This can be a very unsettling experience to someone who has never experienced this phenomenon before, as the dreamer, may be afraid that they cannot return to their bodies. They need never fear this, as there is a thin silver cord that is attached to the astral body, this cord is only severed on death. Usually, the moment the dreamer, experiences fear, or a sense of being awake in the dream, (this is referred to as lucid dreaming) the dreamer will immediately return to their body.
Dreams have also been a source of rich material for prophecy, the Egyptians and the Ancient Greeks, placed great store on dreams, and often people would visit the oracle at Delphi and the High priests at the Egyptian temples, to talk about their dreams and what they mean. A famous dreamer was Moses, when he dreamed about the seven famines in Egypt. In modern day times, there are many accounts of people dreaming about disasters before they happened. The Zebrugge disaster, even the Titanic, apparently, there were many cancellations of berths before that infamous maiden voyage.
A very interesting post Dea, thank you for starting it and sharing your thoughts with us about dreams.
Love and light Kaz
