Banish fear

When fear and doubt arise in your psyche, you either entertain them or you don't.
If you entertain them, you will end up believing that someone else is responsible for your unhappiness and you will feel powerless to change it. If you don't entertain negative thoughts when they arise, you will remind yourself again and again that you are responsible for everything you think, feel, and experience. If you want a different experience, you must choose a different thought. You must substitute a loving thought for a fearful one.

The reason that you are always looking for love from other people is that you do not realize that love comes only from your own consciousness. It has nothing to do with anyone else. Love comes from your willingness to think loving thoughts, experience loving feelings, and act in trusting, loveinspired ways. If you are willing to do this, your cup will run over. You will constantly have the love that you need, and you will take delight in offering it to others.

The fountainhead of love is within your own heart. Don't look to others to provide the love you need. Don't blame others for withholding their love from you. You don't need their love. You need your love. Love is the only gift you can give yourself. Give it to yourself and the universe resounds with a big "Yes!" Withhold it and the game of hide and seek continues: "looking for love in all the wrong places."

Hi Liz, I too get songs as messages from spirit. When i failed my driving test (again) which I did pass eventually. I asked spirit why this kept happening. Their reply was a old 80's song "Takes a little time to get it right" cant remember who sang it or the rest of the words but those were enough.xxx

Its not easy to give love to others unconditionally but I am mastering it, just about got it nailed, tho I am only human. But why is it not so easy to love ourselves unconditionally? I'm getting there but find I am much harder on myself than I am on other people.

I know how important it is to love yourself unconditionally, and I found words that I think Lizzie posted, talking about thinking of ourselves as innocent lost children, very helpful.

I do think I am getting there....really, but it is so helpful having all these points of reference and new friends to listen to and learn from. (I get the feeling I have said that before,lol.)

Hi Kel,

think of yourself as someone you have chosen to spend the rest of your life with. Think of yourself as your own soulmate. Are you married? Next time you cuddle up to your partner, hold that feeling like a spreading warmth in your soul and say to yourself this is how I love me. It becomes easier and easier to do as time goes on. The selflessness we show to our loved ones with practice we can come to show to ourselves. I used to feel really selfish doing it at first, but then I discovered it made me an easier person to be with for them, and they seemed to shine when I did it. My daughter benefits greatly, being a teenager, in learning that her mum can love herself, so she can learn to do it too. My son who has a rather self destructive tendency also benefits from seeing me being kind to myself, because it means he can copy my behaviour. Dont forget that every life you touch in any way whatsoever you influence and if you can influence it to the good, then you will feel the knock-on effect of that joy and happiness.

Dear Liz,

Yes thats a good way to look at it, I am married so its easy for me to grasp what you are saying. I agree that you have an effect upon every life you touch upon, so you want it to be a positive one.

I have a 13 year old daughter and I think that since i started working with energy and getting a better balance, it has definately had a positive effect upon her. Probably on everyone else in my life too!

Ah Liz, Me to babe, what a wonderful way to explain this topic. I to am very hard on myself, When I think of something that I have got wrong, Im forever telling my self how stupid I am "how could I of got that wrong"! But maybe at the time I was a bit vunrable? Who knows but I will try to love myself more. God Bless Hun,xxx
