Hello Like most people here, I have had a huge amount of suffering (and health problems), and sought answers for most of my adult life. Looking for answers has led me to take an interest in spiritual and yoga related practices since my 20’s (I am now 56). I have looked at and studied many healing systems, including Hawaiian Huna, Christianity, Reiki, Spiritual Healing, Gem stone therapy, Tarot, Herbal medicine, and Ayurveda, the Bahai faith, meditation, divination, NLP, drumming and chanting. I use them in healing work. I have been a yoga teacher since 1996 and moved to Spain in 2000, where I run my healing practice. I had a huge spiritual break through in October last year when I discovered Eckhart Tolle and his book ‘The Power of Now’. And I started a process to dissolve my pain-body. He explains how much of our suffering is either a result of the past which we mull over and over again, recreating misery (and health problems), or worrying about some impossible future (and creating a separate future identity). He explains how, that it is only by focussing on the moment, being fully present in our bodies, that we can we find a release from suffering. I am curious about people, spiritual teachers, the soul, retreats, pilgrimage, spirituality in general, religion, enlightenment and healing. I am always learning, and looking forward to interaction with like minded souls. Pax Vobiscum

Hello Mineret, from the beautiful Canary Islands... How lovely to have you here, you sound as if you will fit right in with all our other members. You have learned so many interesting practices, I can't wait to catch up with you in chat to talk about them, especially the Hawaiian Huna ( is this a type of healing, like Reiki?) and the Gem stone therapy. I love crystals..and like to use them in healing. I am particularly interested in chatting with you about Eckhart Tolle's book 'The Power of Now'. I haven't read it myself yet!!! We recently held a Topic Chat in the chat room, called 'Being in the moment, experiencing the now', on that very subject..last night in fact!! I am sure one of our members there mentioned this book. So I find this very syncronistic that you have also spoken about it in your post.. So again, welcome to the group..I will be keeping both eyes open for you.. Love and light Kaz

Thank you for your warm welcome. I was sorry to have missed the 'being in the moment' chat. My favorite topic, what a coincidence! Kaz, Hawaiian Huna is the ancient healing system of the old Hawaiians, banned by the American culture that took them over. I think it is having a renaissance, but spread over a wider audience. I look forward to sharing and chatting with you all soon. Namaste

What a lovely warm bunch of people you are. I'm looking forward to having lots of chats with everyone, about spirituality in general and Eckhart Tolle in particular.
Some of his talks and books revolves around the pain-body and how to dissolve it , physically/emotionally and mentally. It is the voice of the ego, he says that continuously disturbs the body into a state of strain, unhappiness, and stress. It is our constant stream of compulsive and negative thinking that creates so much misery in our own mind.... and our own mind (ego) is capable of creating illness, disruption in emotions and also deeply infecting other people, particularly relationships. I think one has to recognise the power of the ego on our minds before we can bring about positive changes.
Once this condition is recognised, the light of the consciousness in us that is able to do that, to be able to watch the ego at work, brings about the miraculous. When you experience a sense of awe when looking at a beautiful view or a newborn baby or staring at a sunset or even a relgious experience; it is that sort of state... almost difficult to put into words... and what a healing that brings about... it is a form of magic... available to everyone... as though God is right there inside you.
Blessings and love.
