I don't remember the whole dream but here is a scene that struck me as eerie and probably meaningful.
There was this dark dark brown shiny horse standing in the livingroom of the house I grew up in. Me, my girlfriend, and my family were standing around it admiring it. It suddenly ran to the sliding glass door and broke right through the screen. I felt incredibly scared and worried for the horse because I knew we wouldn't be able to get it back.
I ran outside to find the horse gruesomely contorted laying on the ground. It was clear that it was going to have to be killed because its legs were broken. Me and my girlfriend sat down next to the horse. I felt sad for the horse and felt devoted to it in a way.
Suddenly we had candy and I felt feeding the candy to the horse would make its last moments alive happier. The horse ate the candy and seemed to trust us.
That's all I remember. Animals can represent so much in dreams so this dream really fascinated me. I've looked up some key elements in dream dictionaries but I'm wondering if anyone has a take on this.
Thank you.

Hello Wolfgang, I see you are new to the group, so welcome.. A house in dream symbology is representative of you Wolfgang, its rooms are aspects of your personality and also each room represents something in interpreting your dream. Your dream is set in your living room, in dream symbology the living room is how you portray or represent yourself to the world. It may not be who you truly are, but its how you like to be seen, your image if you like. You are surrounded by your family and your girlfriend is with you. In dreams, our families being present can indicate a need for familial security, a reinforcing of our roots. They come to us when we need support of loved ones and they help to ground us. Do you spend much time with your family? If not, it might be a good time, to touch base with them, find out how they are. If you need support and advice in your life at the moment, maybe they could provide that for you. Its a thought!!! Your girlfriend is your ideal women... In the sense that in a man's dream when a women appears, she is his feminine ideal, alternatively, she may represent feminine qualities that he admires, or maybe he could do with bringing out more in his own personality, i.e. traits more often traditionally associated with women, i.e. patience, sensitivity and gentleness. Now to your horse, horses are very powerful symbols, they are powerful and vigorous. They are fast and enable us to move from place to place. A horse and his rider, form a very close bond. They support each other. This energy is part of you!! In your dream your horse is lying injured...this may indicate that you have been neglecting an aspect of your own power. In real life have you felt recently that you have been lacking your normal drive and dynamism, have you allowed yourself to be sidetracked from what you had been doing, your life purpose may be!! You give your horse candy, sweets, to revive it. This would say to me that you need energy. You need something that will revive your own personal energy. This may be in a form of looking after yourself better. Looking at your diet, eating well, treating yourself to something sweet, to give yourself that pick me up. Maybe a tonic!! Alternatively it might even mean that your need something to rekindle your enthusiasm for life, maybe take up a new hobby, or even look at a current situation from a different perspective. Horses are very powerful totem animals in Native American mythology, if you would like to read up about them, and about the symbology of other animals, there is a very good book by the author Ted Andrews, called Animal Speak, which you might find interesting. There are other interpretations that can be made on horses in dreams, but my intuition guides me toward this for you Wolfgang. As always only take from this that which resonates with you and leave the rest. Love and light Kaz
