Hello All,
Well, today was a strange one. Saddam Hussain was executed. This man has committed absolutely dispicable acts against humanity. I will not talk about the pain or misery he helped to create, as we are all well aware of the situation.
What I want to discuss is, do we as a race, ever have the right to make that decision? The decision to end another human beings life. Obviously I am torn about this.
Surely, if God thought the earth needed rid of this man, something would of happened to him i.e. heart attack or some other 'natural' passing.
Maybe this outcome was all part of his pathway, and indeed part of every human being involveds pathway. Maybe their souls needed to experience the decision making and participation in these events to learn some lesson or other.
I watched the film on the news of Saddam being taken to the gallows, and as strange as it may sound, I shed a few tears. For all this man has done, I still could not help but have compassion for how he must have felt.
Whoever people are, whatever they may have done - no matter how bad - there is a reason for why they have done what they have done. There is maybe no excuse, but there is always a reason.
Something has usually happened to that person to make them think the way they do, or they have been brought up in a particular enviroment that makes certain things acceptable to them. I realise this may sound strange and in no way do i condone his actions. He was either a very evil man or severely misguided.
Today was a sad day for me. Not for the individuals concerned but for humanity. It just made me remember what a state we are in. Another reason for the tears I suppose.
Anyway, any thoughts on this? I'm sorry if I have thoroughly depressed you all! That wasn't my intention, lol.
Much love, Kel xx
