A Christmas Prayer

Loving Father, Help us remember the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds,
and worship of the wise men.

Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world. Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting. Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.

May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children, and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake. Amen.

funny you should mention the door, Leon, what a wonderful poem.....I fell asleep on the couch after a late night up wrapping pressies, and a very large and wonderful Christmas dinner, and as I drifted off, I saw a huge glowing door........it seemed to me that it opened and love was shining forth from it........it was as if a door opened into the light and then I saw a head in silhouette with a huge energy halo around it, as if this was my guide opening a doorway to spirit for me....may heaven and the Christmastime be praised, as Charles Dickens so aptly put it!
