There is this massive high wall before me. My friend and I are to climb it together. He is Japanese, I think I am too. We manage to climb the wall, then we are told by our teacher that we have to slide down it again, then climb up as fast as we can. Which we do.
I'm on top of this wall and all of a sudden I am aware of how high up it is, and it seems to wobble. Then I feel scared as I really don't like heights. In life I am scared of them. The wall is actually quite narrow. My friend, is stretched out,doing his exercises on this wall, and seems oblivious to the drop either side. I cling on to my bit of the wall, frightened I'm going to fall.
Then I hear the voice of my teacher, he says, look you have climbed this wall, you have passed your initiation. I notice then there are other young men around me climbing the wall too, in its diff stages. They are Japanese/Chinese too. I think we are Monks, or initiates of some kind.
Look at your friend, he isn't afraid, my friend actually steps off the wall and walks around it. Look, my teacher says, he can manipulate the air around the wall, so can you. He does not fall. I stand up and step off the wall, I too can walk around it as if the air is solid beneath my feet. I gently float to the ground, then rise back up again.
