I don't know if anyone is familiar with Carlos Castaneda, but he's the author of The Teachings of Don Juan series. I have recently read The Fire From Within and The Power of Silence. His writings are about an introduction into forms of altered states of perception. His teacher is Don Juan, who was an old pro at it, so to say. It reads very uniquely, and I would suggest you give it a look the next time you're in a book store to see if it's your cup of tea. I actually went to the used book store last year and decided to go to a random shelf, random book, random page. I remember that I opened up to my old address # in KS (pg. 117) of The Fire From Within, a page that described an interesting experience, which I transcribed a part of below to give you the same first taste that I had:aware and yet it was as if I were looking down into infinite space. There were portentous clouds of brilliant light and masses of blackness; both were in motion. I clearly saw a ripple of amber glow that was coming at me, like an enormous, slow ocean wave. I knew then that I was like a buoy floating in space and that the wave was going to overtake me and carry me. I accepted it as unavoidable. But just before it hit me something thoroughly unexpected happened--a wind blew me out of the wave's path. The force of that wind carried me with tremendous speed. I went through an immense tunnel of intense colored lights. My vision blurred completely and then I felt that I was waking up, that I had been having a dream, a hypnotic dream brought about by Genaro. In the next instant I was back in the room with don Juan and Genaro.

i too are working through the book opening to channel by sanaya roman and duane packer, good exercises in, that help give guidance and confidence for someone wishing to tune into higher guidance. yep as we raise our vibrations, we view life deeper, and thus have more meaningful way of life, which give rise to deeper states of peace, good book.

I am trying to read How to find your inner Priestess by Kala Trobe, but I'm finding myself a little bit bust these days and therefore haven't got past chapter 1 yet.

Mastering Miracles: The Healing Art of Qi Gong as Taught by a Master" (This is the second time I've read this particular book. I have an interest in Chi Gung / Qi Gong and am looking for a Master teacher. I may just search out Dr. Liu in Los Angeles.)

I love the Fire from Within. Castaneda is amazing imo. All of his books are treasures. I have found you can read them over and over again and get new insights each time, depending on your awareness and state at the time. I recommend " Journey to Ixtlan" and " The Art of Dreaming." The Art of Dreaming, while it is a little tricky is an absolutely amazing, priceless book for anyone who calls him or herself a dreamer. I don't know if anyone is familiar with Carlos Castaneda, but he's the author of The Teachings of Don Juan series. I have recently read The Fire From Within and The Power of Silence. I am just back from Glastonbury (I love that place) and cos it was too cold to climb the Tor (between -1 and 3) and too cold to meditate in Chalice Wells Gardens, I wandered around town more than usual and of course, I spent longer in my favourite book shop ..... I bought .......... Animal SpeakThe Gospel According to ThomasThe Stonehenge PeopleEnergy Secrets of Glastonbury TorLey Lines and Earth EnergiesLey Lines and Earth Energies And at the moment I am reading bits and pieces of each of them. Does anyone read a whole book straight through? Except for a story one. I can read some, but others have so much info in them, my head whirls and I have to put it down.

I too absolutely love Glastonbury, its my favourite place for Crystals.... ;D ;D I bought my first Crystal book and Dowsing crystal there, the Crystal Healer is a brilliant book, very informative and great for any beginner. I charged my crystal for the first time at the Chalice Well in the Chalice gardens, which is a beautiful place to visit, any time of the year. The energy there is amazing and although I wouldn't always call it peaceful, it stirs the blood and gives such a feeling that all things are possible there, it is so worth a visit, if anyone else reads this and has never been. I haven't been for many years now, but I often think of it with a great deal of affection. I managed to climb the tor, and while I was up there, there were two ladies toning, their humming actually cleared my sinus's and helped me regain my balance, as I was having problems with my middle ear. The view from the top, is truly amazing, and sat there, you can well imagine that it is a place, where they say that the veil between this world and the next is at its thinest. I too have Animal speak its a great book for anyone interested in Native American totems and animal guides. I also have read most of Betty Shines books, she introduced me to mind energy, or rather, how to expand and use it to its full potential. A very funny down to earth lady, who sadly is no longer with us. I also read a book by a lady called Alexandra Neale, called I fly out with Bright Feathers, a story about a novice healer on a voyage of spiritual and self discovery. Very interesting introduction for anyone who is interested in getting into healing. For me, it answered a lot of questions, and helped me find a way to channel energy and use it for healing, long before I heard of or became attuned to Reiki. Recently I have been reading The Seven waters Trilogy by a lady called Juliet Marrillier. These books are not what you would call spiritual as such, they are set in Ancient Ireland, and follow the lives of several generations of children who are born there. It is against a backdrop of ancient magic, of Druid lore and the fair folk and the ancient ones. This book appeals to me so much because, its a cracking fantasy story, but it talks in great detail about the discipline and life of a druid. These people were very disciplined about meditation and connecting with the energy of the earth. I am a Christian, but there is a lot of there lore that really resonates with me..so what does that make me I wonder..lol I have always felt that being spiritual is more about developing this inner knowing and connecting to god, the earth and nature. When I get my teeth into something that fascinates and excites me, yes, I do read it straight through, I do have a habit of starting a couple at a time though, which does mean it takes longer and I pick them up and put them down. I have also enjoyed very much reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and The Prophet by Khalil Gibran. I have varied tastes, as you can see...basically I love anything that is to do with spiritualism, healing, Reiki and biographies of mediums, like Doris Stokes, who taught me not to be afraid of spirit, Betty ShineBetty Shine and Mia Dolan.

I would like to get those books you speak of Kaz. The Seven Waters Trilogy, they are the sort I red too. Have you read the Earth Children series by Jean M Auel? Methinks you would like them too. The first one is Clan of the Cave Bear. I have all of Mia Dolans and Derek Acorahs books too. Back to Chalice Wells Gardens, I gave my daughter her 2nd reiki attunement there. I visit Glastonbury every season, January, April, July and October, sometimes more. It's a 7+1/2 hr journey for me, so I stop at Worcester overnight, usually travel on Friday, stay at Worcs, onto Glast Saturday, spend the day then back to Worcs, visit a friend then home Sunday.

Hi Mia, Now I'm really envious.... . How wonderful for your daughter to have had her 2nd Reiki attunement at the chalice gardens, I can't think of a more beautiful setting... And you get to visit, four or more times a year, that is brilliant, especially as you have to travel for so many hours to get there. I used to travel from Wales and I thought that 4 1/2 hours was a long time. Where do you live?? I will google Clan of the Cave Bear, if as you say you'd like my type of book, then I'd definitely like yours.... I used to love Derek Acorah, and watched Most Haunted religiously, I was so disappointed when the papers did that expose on him, saying that he'd been fed a lot of the information he used to get while doing the show...and once he left most haunted, it just wasn't the same, even with Yvette the screamer..lol The show was definitely excellent when it first started, and then I think they just got caught up in the, we got to give the audience something, even if it was helped along by the shows producers. I loved it when it was real!! I have been to Glastonbury, in September, April and July. I haven't been for gosh, so long, life has taken me in many directions and going there has not been possible for me. I always felt after I'd been that I'd had my spiritual batteries, recharged..and I miss that.. Thank you for sharing.. Love and light Kaz

Am currently reading "The year of the truth" by Ann-marie Trulore. It's a bargain kindle ebook. I'll quote - "The year of the truth is an inspiring tale of personal transformation and sellf-discovery. A spiritual adventure through time and space, its message emphasises the continuity of life, or consciousness, after death, and is one of hope for humanity as a whole as we approach the end of a World Age: Decemer 21st 2012". I've been experiencing a very turbulent 2012 - as have many others I know - & the ending of this book is shedding light on perhaps why. A very personal story in parts, but really informative, seems to pull together many different spiritual concepts within the framework of one person's life. I've always been interested in past lives & the way the author has threaded her own uncovered past lives through the story brings the concepts of reincarnation & karma to life. I learnt alot from the book but also found it an entertaining read.

Just finished this book for the 2nd time and its still blowing me away! It's called Master and the Green-Eyed Hope. I've made a thread if you guys are interested: spiritualforum.me.uk/index.cgi?action=display&board=books&thread=4760To give a brief overview its a book about spiritual matters mixed with the everyday, with a twist of exciting adventure involving possible time travel, or astral travel of some sort. A broad amount of subjects and topics are touched upon and is very well written, hence keeps you flipping those pages!! Cheers!
