Why is it difficult to trust people?

Why do we find it so difficult to trust someone? Why do we doubt? When we look at somebody, we are not able to trust them immediately. Have you ever wondered why?

It is because we look at a person as a body-mind, and we feel that this body-mind will not be true, may not behave with honesty and integrity. We have no confidence that they will conform to what is right. We think: What if they deceive us? What if they do things the wrong way? What if they are not trustworthy? We must stop for a moment and change our paradigm. Don’t look at that person as a body-mind. Think of that person as the Divine Soul, the Energy, the same Soul that is in you. Think of that person as an extension of the Power that gives you life – if you think in such a way, will you doubt; will you mistrust? Chances are no. The moment we think of people as a soul, we will automatically start to trust them, love them, make them a part of our belief system, and with this understanding, life will change.

Wouldn’t it be so beautiful if we trusted everybody, if we believed in everybody? However, the question that will follow this would be ‘Oh! What if I believed in everybody and trusted everybody and then I was cheated?’ How could you be cheated? You are not the body-mind. You yourself are the Soul. Everything that is happening here is nothing but a cosmic drama, a drama that is unfolding as per the Divine will of the Creator. But do we see it that way? Till we don’t see it that way, we will live with doubt and mistrust, and we will miss the true bliss of life.

While the divine spark of God may resign in everyone, in most it is dormant.
That has to be awakened, and move from physical level to the soul level, before the spirit of God can even enter.
To walk around and see everyone as divine and be open, leaves one with all defences down and left to the will,of others.
The vast majority of people, do not have the spirit of God awakened in them, which is evident in everyday life.

I don't think human beings have very good personalities. And how arrogant can it be to assume we are the only and/or ultimate intelligent life form in the Universe? As it is now there are not a lot of alternatives but what if there was? What if human beings had to compete on the open market place? I keep asking myself what bother to progress and lead the pack when many people justify themselves as being "normal". You can get away with almost anything that way as long as you can write the rules.

The only problem I encounter is human beings are not static. If I write them off as being hopeless there comes another day and everything has changed. It isn't clear if humans HAVE to change or if they somehow have some built in compulsion to be better or more altruistic. And where does this lead?

I suspect the Masters know our fate and are delighted to know it. Even if it isn't obvious to us humans now...

Yeah it is a very interesting topic to discuss .I want to share a story to you!
There was a pious yogi who was meditating . He had some bag of gold coins next to him(probably given in alms to him).
A robber came , grabbed the bag of coins and ran away . The yogi woke from meditation and saw some coin fallen in the ground and saw the robber running away. The yogi started running after him saying "O robber you left some of your coins here please take them with you!.
The moral of that story is if you have nothing to lose you have nothing to be afraid of . If you consider everything you have to be of god's giving then you have no fear of losing it because "God giveth and God bloweth away!". But really a true yogi free from any attachment or bond can trust any being even monster.
Yes it is hard for normal people like us to trust someone. But isn't yogi more happier than us? He got robbed and he is still happy. YOU are absolutely right a soul cannot be robbed. If you realize you are soul then you are in a pond of infinite happiness.
