Dream Interpretation

I will kick off this new part of the board with a dream of mine and its interpretation. Feel free to reply or pm me with your dream and I will do my best to interpret it. I have years of experience keeping personal dream diaries, but much of what we learn from our dreams is valuable and important information that we have to learn to apply to our lives to grow in lots of different ways. Sometimes your dreams are a warning you have taken a wrong turning, and sometimes you just had too much cheese before bedtime. Anyway, here goes.

I dreamed this in January this year.
There was bright orange everywhere and my husband and I were in a secret room in an old house. Our three cats were outside and we had to leave to go bring them in, not having a cat flap. The room was like a priest hole only bigger and had some amazing furniture and bric-a-brac and books and was great fun to explore. I knew in the dream that the books were really important somehow.

When I woke up and wrote this down, I was impressed firstly by the fact that the orange everywhere seemed to relate to my second (orange) chakra. It seemed that I had more work to do in this area. To let you understand, I meditate for 20 minutes every night and begin by opening all my chakras and unblocking the blocked energies in each one. When I had this dream I had only just begun this nightly meditation. The secret room, I was certain referred to a secret place inside myself that I had to access to gain in knowledge and understand - hence the things in the room which were books which I felt stood for learning and growing in knowledge, and furniture and bric-a-brac - the very fabric of my existence. The fact that my husband was with me referred to the fact that I would learn in conjunction with him and not be alone in my understanding and knowledge and the fact that my cats were there also needing to get in, meant that they in their feline way had something to teach me. The truth is, I only have one cat, two of my cats had died the previous year, so in a way the cats were with me in spirit teaching me that I needed humility and compassion to be in the room learning the lesson i.e. to be in my own mind growing and learning in spirit.
I felt that I got lots of understanding and knowledge from this dream and I did lots of further work on opening my chakras, and the energies within me flow much more smoothly now, I dont feel stifled or blocked or negative now.

remember the symbology of lizzies dream may just be for her bric a bric or orange could mean completley different things to you, dreams are personal there can be a general outline to the interprations, but for instance a woman that likes cats and dislikes dogs will read the animals in a dream differently to a man that likes dogs and hates cats, It's what these animals or symbols mean to them. please post your dreams on here for lizzie to interpret and anyone else that wants to have a try.

hey come on - everyone dreams you know - you just have to remember a little snippet of something and I can see what we can do with it. Its amazing what the mind and spirit's capacity is for creating intelligent information for you to learn and grow from. You can have so many directions to go in or be confused about where to go and your mind will throw symbols up in dreams to give you signposts. Come on and I will try to show you the way.

Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone could help me. I have two reoccring dreams that frighten me alot these are the only two derams I have had in several occaisions and wonder if they are connected or trying to tell me something. Here goes:

Dream 1: I have had this dream about 6 times now, It is usually a hotel or some other large grand/posh looking building, I get into the lift but for some reason am always worried about getting in but I always do. The Lift always goes down then suddenly starts speeding up, kinda free falling. I always wake up before I hit the bottom. I wake up instantly.

Dream 2: Again I have had versions of this dream several times, the dream basicly is at a fair ground where something goes horribly wrong. It is usually a big wheel that falls from its axel or gets jammed and people fall from the top. People are always killed in this dream. I always seem to be running away from the event as well, looking back over my sholder but never helping!?! The last time I had this dream was the other week and I dreamt that my daughter had been killed on the big wheel. (I don't have any children?!!)

Does anyone know if these dreams will be connected at all? or what they mean? They always scare me.

okay, my friend, no worries, and we will take dream 1 first. By the way hello! so glad you could respond. Okay - a lift is highly symbolic of going someplace in life in general, now to me I feel that going down in a grand building is basically your own inner self which is asking you to look deeper at your spiritual life. You are afraid of this, hence your feeling of fear when you say these dreams recur. To me, it appears that your spirit guide is attempting to tell you that for your own agrandisement (betterment) in life, (the grand building) you must learn to go deeper inside your own mind, to look deeper. The fact that when you get into it, the lift speeds up, suggests that if you are brave enough to enter (the lift - inner self) you will then find that you will swiftly descend into your inner self, but your fear is what makes you wake up before you arrive at the solution. Always in dreams of falling, waking up before you hit suggests that your fear stops you from reaching resolution. It is very important when you have this dream again, that you take a notebook and pen and note your surroundings in the lift, in the building and most particularly say to yourself just as you are dropping off to sleep that you would like the chance to be brave and face whatever is in at the bottom. Of course, there is another possibility, my friend, and that is that there is something buried deep within your subconscious mind that you have actually buried intentionally and your spiritual progress and indeed your progress in life are being stunted by not facing this buried something. It could be anything - a childhood trauma, abuse, etc. Or it could be a simple fear you have just never faced like fear of open spaces or heights. See how the above actually applies to you, my friend, and get back to me, when you have further detail with the notebook or you let me know what of this makes some kind of sense to you, strikes a chord, and we will see if we can work further on this. I am going to break off to try to analyse the second dream in a different message.

Hi again, burt. I did post the meaning of the second dream - hope the first interpretation has helped you - do get back to me with some feedback and let me know.

Now for the second dream - you are at a fairground - look at the symbolism of this - fair/fairness/justice in life........I feel you are looking at an injustice here. A past injustice........there is a big accident.........this relates to something going wrong in your life involving an injustice of some kind. People are killed...........this involves your subconscious avoiding dealing with solving/facing that injustice so it symbolically "kills off" the guilty parties............you RUN AWAY.......you are trying to escape (just as in the lift almost in the first dream) from facing up to the problem and YOU DO NOT TRY TO HELP...........you are not trying to help yourself and you will not be able to help anyone else until you turn around and face what you are trying to escape from...........in the dream, if you turned round and tried to help you would perhaps be able to save some of the injured people from being killed by pulling them to safety. TURN AROUND and help yourself also by pulling your own inner self to safety and saving you from your inner trauma which you are escaping from. Only you know what that is. Okay, lets see.........please understand that this doesnt have to be some big life changing trauma we are talking about here, it could be something really simple but powerful that you are escaping from - search your mind for answers. Children in dreams often refer to one's own childhood, so there is also a little clue as to where the problem lies - something within your own childhood which is stopping you from moving forward to adulthood. Was there a little girl/sister/niece in your life?

Again, notebook and pen and pen light and try to note down surrounding details next time it recurs, but again, breathe deeply, before going to sleep and tell yourself that when the dream occurs again you will try to turn around and help and see how it changes.......note this and do please let me know how you get on.

I have just come back to this thread to re-read it and it seems to be very relevant to what is happening to me right now.

I am constantly having visions of a wooden door slightly open and it seems that I have to go through, but somehow I cant get through just yet - perhaps I am not ready. I have not dreamed about this, but see an actual vision every evening when I start my meditation. I am having instances of thoughts manifesting in my life very quickly, i.e. casual thoughts becoming reality almost instantly so I feel that the combination of this and the door are actually letting me know I am about to move to the next spiritual level in my learning.

I feel I do need to do more work unblocking my chakras, they get very clogged during a highly stressful job I do during the day where I often deal with irate customers, however, I feel that I have good psychological training and often manage to calm people down. I hope the stress will lessen as a result.

Thanks for that Leon, I hope I am worthy. I feel I need to do some work dealing with an overactive ego right now, and practising humility. I am learning to be more compassionate and understanding despite personal feelings. I am learning we are all one inside and part of the same source and it is giving me such feelings of peace and tranquility. Just before you "connect" spiritually do you have any physical feelings, Leon?

I tell you why I ask this............when I link up with my guide, Michael, I actually get a great tingling in my fingertips and all through my body, but since my vision of the door, I have started to feel an incredible tingly crawling scalp feeling which I think is the opening of my topmost chakra...........the one which links me to spirit -- what are your views on this?

Hey Everyone!

Before i even begin, I'd like to thank you for providing me with a place where i can talk freely about what i see in my dreams... most people find them disturbing... even i do sometimes when i repeat them...
again, thank you...

I'll just start with the most recent dream i had (last night):

I was in a castle by the sea, there were lots of people i didn't know... but who seemed to be expecting something from me... and i was with a little sick girl in the basement of the castle or whatever you call it and it had a really big gate with 2 steps that led to the sea... and people were trying to get out of that gate... then i saw a reflection of Jesus on white glass (i'm not christian), then i broke down in tears and asked him to do something and save her... then he tried to heal her but it wasn't working... so i said something (don't remember what exactly) and the girl died instantly...
so i took her to the gate, passed her through the bars somehow and put her in the water... and she sank like a stone... then a lotta crabs started surfacing... lots and lots of them...

a while later i saw the very same girl... alive and well...
but i didn't talk to her... i just left her alone...

You don't have to interpret it if you don't want to...
But I'm hoping someone will help me understand what this is all about...

First of all welcome to you. Do not fear your dreams, you have to learn to "go into" them and really analyse them. You can best do this by writing them down - keep a notebook and light pen by your bed and write down everything as soon as you wake up, especially if you wake up in the middle of the night. Your most vivid and important dreams come around 5am and can last up to 45 minutes. When a dream stays with you for most of the day it is because your subconscious mind is trying to pass a message to your conscious mind and give you a push to do or look at something in your life that needs changing or acceptance. I have been interpreting my dreams for over thirty years and have had some powerful insights into how the dreaming mind works. I interpret my children's dreams and help them to calm their fears about monsters and school!!

PERHAPS THE JESUS IN YOUR MIND ASSOCIATED WITH “NORMAL” RELIGION OR STANDARDISED CHRISTIANITY COULD NOT HEAL I.E. THIS WAY DID NOT WORK FOR YOU PERSONALLY so i said something (don't remember what exactly) and the girl died instantly...IT IS YOUR WORD WHICH KILLED HER – THAT SOUNDS HARSH BUT IN FACT HAVE A LOOK AT WHAT IT REALLY SAYS…….IT SAYS THAT YOU FEEL THAT YOU HAVE THE POWER TO DESTROY IN YOUR LIFE YOU FEEL THAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF KILLING WITH JUST A WORD. OF COURSE THIS IS TRUE FOR ALL OF US AS IN THE POWER OF THOUGHT BEING ABLE TO MANIFEST OUR DESIRES IN REALITY – NOW YOU MAY NOT HAVE WANTED TO KILL HER, BUT I THINK THE DREAM IS POINTING OUT THAT YOU CAN DO LOTS OF THINGS IN YOUR LIFE UNWITTINGLY AND YOU MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FACT THAT YOU CAN KILL OR CURE EASILY. THE WATER OF LIFE, THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH. THE YOUNG GIRL DIED AND THE CRABS WERE BORN. CANCER IS THE SIGN OF THE CRAB AND IS A WATER SIGN. IT IS A SIGN ASSOCIATED WITH COMPASSION, LOVE AND FLEXIBILITY. THINK ON THIS – DO YOU KNOW OR ARE YOU A WATER SIGN. I AM A PISCES WHICH IS ALSO A WATER SIGN. I FEEL MAYBE THE LITTLE GIRL MIGHT HAVE BEEN YOU SMALL WHEN YOU REJECTED ORGANISED RELIGION AND WENT ON TO FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF, I.E. SYMBOLICALLY KILLING OFF THE LITTLE GIRL AND DIVING INTO NEW WATER……..

YOU LEFT HER ALONE, I.E. DID NOT INTERFERE IN CASE YOU SHOOK THINGS UP AGAIN. BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF HERE, THOUGH, AND DISCOVER WHAT THE DREAM IS PERSONALLY SAYING TO YOU.

YOU ARE IN A CASTLE, SHUT AWAY, YOU HAVE LOTS OF PEOPLE AROUND YOU EXPECTING YOU TO “DELIVER” SOMETHING WHICH YOU NO LONGER WANT TO GIVE, HENCE THE CASTLE SHUTTING YOURSELF AWAY AND ALSO THE REFERENCE TO “CASTLES IN THE AIR” I.E. BUILDING DREAMS BASED ON NOTHING….FANTASIES, AND UNREALITY. YOU NEED TO LOOK AT WHY YOU WANT TO ESCAPE FROM REALITY AND IT IS TO DO WITH THIS LITTLE GIRL WHO IS THE SMALL PART OF YOURSELF…..I.E. YOU AS A CHILD. SHE IS DEAD NOW, YOU MUST MOVE ON, ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY AND FACE THE FACT THAT YOU ARE BEING ASKED TO SYMBOLICALLY “DIVE INTO” LIFE AND FIND OUT WHERE YOUR LIFE PURPOSE LIES.

It is a natural fact of life and not many people are prepared to unravel what it says but it provides rich rewards should you choose to do so. You are what is known as a BIG DREAMER which means you are able to recall your dreams vividly and you dream very vividly too.
