Well it seems this place has become a bit of a ghost town, like all the inhabitants have left, I can just hear that gentle wind blow the tumble weed down main street. Thought I might try making some noise before the bulldozers move in.
Not sure if anyone has heard of the sleeping prophet, that would be Edgar Cayce, just finished reading one of his books, bought it a long time ago at a second hand book store, old, dog eared, yellowing pages, the type where you wash your hands after you put it down, especially if your going to eat.
The books title, "On channeling your higher self," guess, thats what we are all trying to do really.
He gives account of the many ways this can be done, but not only that, he also gives air to the fact, that there are risks involved, exclaiming that channeling through dreams been probably the safest.
He also explains why and potentially where those risks come from, I found myself nodding in agreement. I believe spiritual seekers, especially those new to the fold, should be well aware of what they may face, when treading this path, and do not support the school of all is love and light, just to get people into the pool. He even states some people should leave well alone, and gives a lovely parable of a ships captain wanting to experience these heavenly voices that emanated from this island, but by reputation, often brought those captive by her lures to destitude, I believe ever seeker should have a copy.
His final chapter ended with quite an uplifting note, rather than us trying to get back to source, often at the death of the conscious/ego/mind, he was quite adamant, that the ego can never be truly killed off, the fact that it didnt run the show was enough, and the concept that ego free people with universal consciousness flowing through would be all the same, and defies the logic that our unique individuality is meant to express spirit in our own unique way, food for thought.
mojo.
