Going to local spiritual meetings I can't help but notice most of the participants are decidedly liberal. But some are not - even to the point of complaining they are trying to take our guns away so we can't defend ourselves. Going on the internet I don't see anything very conservative; there was nothing that would cause me to flee a site I was visiting faster then to read up front the ( in their opinion ) utter magnificence of Obama.
This also segues into the perennial conflict of religion. Supposedly the scientific community has to virtually fight the church in an unending quest to stamp out superstition and dogma. Most metaphysical types want little or nothing to do with religion as it is too confining. Indeed it can be quite a shock to encounter one with demonstrable occult powers who still works within a religious organization. "Well I just keep my mouth shut so they won't throw me out".
Channeling Ascended Masters is very revealing. They universally don't take to religion very kindly as Mankind practices it. The reason being the problem of control. Churches love to control. Even as it seems self evident anyone seeking to access an Ascended Master or even their Spirit Guide is going beyond the boundaries. You aren't allowed to jump the fence !
I could go on and on. I was once a member of AMORC in San Jose which billed themselves as the "official" Rosicrucian organization. They do a good job. But I just can't join that anymore. I hate to portray myself as the vanguard. But lets face it: growing up also means outgrowing things. At some level it seems imperative to help and contribute. At another level you don't abandon as much as you need to accept bigger and better.
Which begs the question: where is everything headed to? Is there anything that we can trust or rely upon? Obviously the physical crumbles to dust but does even the esoteric outlive it's usefulness ? All I know is as long as there are human beings - which I have been told are one of the most extreme beings in the Cosmos - everything they do or believe in will be conflict. It seems we humans just can't progress without it.
We were not born to be or experience peace. It is still only the goal.
