God allows evil and darkness for one purpose only. For learning purposes .
God brought us here to earth to learn from a polarity between darkness and light . so darkness is just a tool for learning
When we have learnt all we need to learn on earth the world and hell will be destroyed and we will live in the light of heaven free of darkness .

Hi Cliff, An interesting perspective. My view on this is that God neither allows or creates light and dark scenarios for us to learn from. I believe that we as human beings through our own free will, whether consciously or unconsciously create them. A quote by John Milton sums it up well for me. He said.. “The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven..” Though I do believe some of what we experience, may be predestined, or agreed too prior to this life time, through the desire to balance out karmic cycle. For the most part, I believe we are beings of free will. For if we were not, then we would not keep on repeating negative cycles of behaviour. Or coming face to face with the same problem, even if the people involved and time line has changed. I have found that many people experience an inner yearning to learn and discover more. For me personally, the desire to learn has always been an important part of spiritual growth. Question, be discerning and always be a seeker of the truth. But something I have discovered is that the more I learn the more what I believe to be the truth changes. That is the beauty of growth isn't it. The belief that God punishes or seeks revenge is in my opinion, an archaic view of spirituality. One that has its roots in rules created by the church to manipulate or control the people. I am more of a follower of the spiritual school of self development and growth to become more spiritually aware to our life's purpose. But that is only my perspective on it. And I respect the right that others have to hold their own views. We are an all belief spiritual group here Cliff. So when we put forward our views, we do try to remember that. By putting forward our thoughts primarily as being our own, rather than an established view or fact. This is not to undermine your beliefs, or anyone else's. It is done out of respect for others and just to highlight the fact that just because our views on spirituality may differ from others, it does not make them any less true or have merit. It is great to see you so active on the forum Cliff. But I think you would get more replies if you slowed down creating new threads. If you do not, there is a danger of something you have put on earlier being missed as it is pushed off the time line. It does not give people time to see it, before you've moved on to your next topic. As well as giving others a chance to create a thread of their own. Just something for you to consider. Love and light Kaz

Our most important lesson to learn is forgiveness. Until then we seek revenge. Since we are around ourselves all the time we seek to hurt ourselves as retribution for what we have done. That decision is obviously not done objectively in the waking state although some do commit suicide. It is suggested the Master Jesus does not intervene but merely allows our self judgement to unfold. Once we experience what we deem reparation He is there to comfort and congratulate us for a job well done.
Even if it was quite painful and messy .....

Hi George, You just gave me a Ah Ha moment, with what you have just said. You said, "Our most important lesson to learn is forgiveness. Until then we seek revenge. Since we are around ourselves all the time we seek to hurt ourselves as retribution for what we have done." I have never thought about guilt in quite that way before. But now seeing it from that perspective, it makes perfect sense. Many times I have wondered why people 'self sabotage'. I wonder if it is that on some deep level they do not feel that they deserve to be happy. A deep feeling of guilt for a past mistake, causing them, even if it is unconsciously deliberately creating a situation where they continue to suffer. And until they can forgive themselves, will continue to keep choosing to attract more of the same negativity into their lives. For me this is where the only way out of this kind of situation is through self awareness and growth. To see that we ourselves are as worthy of compassion and forgiveness, as anyone else. Why is it so hard to forgive ourselves I wonder, then it is to forgive someone else? Thank you George for sharing Love and light Kaz

I can forgive everyone now who wrongs me . As I believe we don't have free will so it's not them hurting me it's God and the angels and it's an inevitable karma all is forgiven in my eyes it's a nice place to be at because I don't hold resent or desire for revenge I just let it go God has blessed me with this understanding

Sometimes Kaz... the psychological shadow aspect of our personality hides the full process and results of our actions from ourselves.
But our karmic energy we created by our actions, emotions or thoughts brings in a feeling that something is wrong... and the act of acknowledging them and then forgiveness -- more difficult in some is self-forgiveness (because it is our shadow). Some people just stand stuck in the suffering because they don't understand or acknowledge the part they played in it.
If forgiving is "genuine" it activates an energy within ourselves which makes the karmic knots in our psyche to dissolve. If it was a big karmic knot created over time and with continuous feeding (which many are).. it may take longer to release out of our energy field.
peace ace

God does not allow evil, it is us that allows bad things to happen. If we all confronted wrongdoings head on instead of hiding behind excuses, there would be little chance for evil to take hold in this world. Edmund Burke once wrote "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." It is not God's fault it is our fault when we do nothing.

You say it's us that does evil Leon then wouldn't God stop us after all good created us so he allows evil . He would not leave good people to be hurt by bad people unless they had something to learn from it . And you say all it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing so if evil starts a war killing people good men have to do evil to stop them i.e war and suffering

"It is suggested" we choose our fate before we are born. However that goes both ways: we may choose to be in a time and place to make a difference. At other times and places we may choose to just be a victim. The biggest problem is judging what and when because we rarely remember why we decided to incarnate. So I guess part of the bargain is to do our best blindly with the best of intentions accepting " The Lord works in mysterious ways ect."
The trouble is fateism is that you have to be super enlightened to know your fate. Making a pact with God can be just as rationalistic as making a pact with the devil. How many of us ever get such a calling? And even if we did how many would follow up on it?
