Nothing is ever what it seems. We've all heard the saying "don't judge a book by it's cover" however the task is definitely easier said then done. When we judge something we do so based off of our own perception of the situation. Our judgments are not accurate assumptions of reality, they are reflections of our own perspective. What we see in others is really a direct reflection of what we think of ourselves. Nothing is what it seems, our judgments/assumptions are often misguided and block us from being fully aware of the present moment. We have the potential to create, alter, and master our own perception of reality. Wayne Dyer once said “Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change”. Feel free to share your thoughts or opinions regarding this topic, all feedback is appreciated... One Love!

Hi Paxeamor, Welcome to the forum, it is lovely to meet you. That is one of my favourite Wayne Dyer quotes I have found those words particularly helpful, when there have been times in my life when the world has lost some of its colour. State of mind really does influence how we see the world and interact within it. Our life perception is very much influenced by our personal circumstances and life experiences. It can take a great deal of self honesty to understand that. And hard for some to mentally take a step back and try to view the world in a fresh way. To look for and believe that there is always a upside to any situation. One of my favourite quotes that illustrates this perspective for me so well, and also makes me smile is by Vivien Greene "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, its about learning how to dance in the rain"I agree with you that often things are not always how they appear. Life is multi layered and multi faceted. So how to look past the obvious and search for deeper meaning. For example, when I encounter negative behaviour in another person, I don't just assume they are just bad people. I really don't think people are born angry, belligerent and unfair in their treatment of others. I always feel there is a story behind it. I've often been told its a fault of mine to always look for the good in people, or make excuses for why they act as they do. I don't see it that way. Its not to defend poor action, but to feel compassion for whatever has happened to them to make them that way. I also believe that when we question why others act as they do, it makes us more aware of our own actions and the possible consequences. One of my favourite quotes is by Ralph Waldo Emerson "Life is like a train of moods, like a string of beads, and, as we pass through them, they prove to be many-colored lenses which paint the world their own hue”. Love and light Kaz

In my opinion, it is purely perception-based. What one person thinks, is another persons non-thought. It makes it all interesting. Even the basics of someone moaning when it rains. ''Ugh...it's horrible out there, isn't it?!' Then someone else (me) may reply ''You think? I think it's beautiful, it's all in divine order and perfect' That's when the strange looks start
