At a local spiritual meeting we got to practice our abilities and skills in channeling and mediumship. This is a bit of a controversial area. That the participants would experience anything at all can also be dismissed as everyone mesmerizing themselves. Isn't that what the cults do? I am sure there is no end to the number of groups that get visited by aliens and ghosts and everything in between because they believe in that.
Except there is a fine line between a mindless group think and a meeting of the minds with a shared interest. In the latter case it is not so much the leader that is in charge as it is each member came with something to contribute. Like a pot luck dinner. That is a lot less miraculous then the Master feeding 5,000 people with 5 loaves of bread and two fish . But it still gets the job done against all odds and conventional wisdom.
I never personally experience or contribute anything out of the ordinary at these types of meetings. I probably should get discouraged I do not have strange occult powers. Actually that is not what bothers me at all. I do wonder about the Cosmos and all that it contains and how it all fits together and what plan is unfolding to make it so. Surely there must be more then coincidence in our lives if we are even a small part of this and yet I see these girls only thinking of those people - friends and relatives - that impacted their own lives and what a tremendous effect it had on them and worrying what happened to them after death. If I didn't know better I would not think any one individual made that much different to anyone or anything else. I guess my mindset is very limited.
I see the forest but not the trees.
Contacting to and from beyond the grave doesn't seem that big a deal to me anymore. Some people do it all the time. The sense of destiny that we did our thing in life that actually lives on after we die and mattered so much is something else. To me that is amazing ...and something I have yet to learn.
