In my spiritual quest, I've been searching for the truth about who the original Gods and Goddesses of humanity are. In my research, I came across a theory which states that "Demons" are actually the Original Gods who were slandered by religions like Christianity in an attempt to hide the truth. This article sums up the argument well: www.angelfire.com/empire/serpentis666/Daemon.htmlWhat do people think of this? It interests me a lot, but I wanted to see what other people thought. I've found that going forward with an open mind and a brave soul is necessary in a spiritual quest.

I think there was always a problem of promoting the One True God and recognizing there was a host of beings and entities and concepts between us and God. Or in other words: what exactly is a god ? Do you worship one to the exclusion of all the others? Or is everything worthy of some consideration and respect?
The only thing some of us are abandoning is the concept of good vs. evil. The concept doesn't seem to work very well over time because things change. What was good in the past may no longer be acceptable. Or what we thought was bad was actually just a beginning and deserved to be nurtured on account of that.
In that respect demons and deceased ect. are just one step beyond us and can give useful but limited advice. But don't think they are infallible. Or evil just because they are not perfect.

In Hinduism there are two different sides one living in the realms just above the human realm and the other living in the realms below the human realm. The idea of considering them "Gods or Goddesses" is not right because in puranas they also worship the "almighty one". The reason behind most of the human civilizations used to worship them because they were in charge of various natural forces. If you want more rain next year well make the rain or thunder god happy. In Vedas there are(or were) many yagyas or rituals mentioned which were used by ancient kings of India to make it rain or to avoid a natural calamity. Now both the teams were the children of same man (Rishi Kashyapa) . Rishi Kashyapa had two wives 1) Aditi who gave birth to "Good ones" and 2) Diti who gave to "evil ones" "The Almighty one" does not and will never be partial to any living being but the "Dharma" will. "Dharma" tells us what is right and what is wrong. The model of "universe" described by vedas and puranas consist of three planes of existence:- Spiritual,Neutral ,Anti-spiritual. You might have already guessed that the "Good ones" reside in spiritual plane , we humans reside in "Neutral" and the evil ones in "Anti-spiritual" one. The "Gods and Goddesses" about which hear so much are not fully good not the evil ones are fully bad. The current leader of the patheon which is thunder god is quite mischievous . There was also a benevolent king (from the race of "evil ones") who ruled on earth few Mahayugas before. The "evil ones" usually were greedy,selfish,anti-Dharmic ,etc and the "good ones" were kind of like "god" to the people. True thing is they just wanted attention(just like any other human being ). All the modern religions condemn worship of these beings because they can't give or do nothing beyond materialistic things. The man aim of all religion is to go back to our father( The almighty one). peace
