A few weeks back we were to attend a workshop in Glastonbury, previous to this, there was a period of self doubt, was not sure if the interest was there anymore, one of those down times, when you just wanted to walk away from it all.
A nasty flu hit the body and developed into pneumonia, four weeks in bed, was starting to look like Glastonbury was finished.
A lot of the time when in nature, questions are answered by my good friend the robin, with the pneumonia at its worse, I slept both day and night, one night my wife was awoken by the sound of birds singing, she lifted the blind and couldn't believe what she saw, every window ledge on the apartment was full of robins, she tried to photo the spectacle but failed, two in the morning, she claims the robins were up to a hundred strong.
We decided to go to Glastonbury, anyway, we stayed at a place called Abbey House, it was used as a retreat centre, and has a history of healing by the nuns who used to run the place.
Our first night there, I felt as if a healing energy, was working on me, the following morning I awoke greatly improved, with the words "drowning in his own self doubt", still echoing in my head.
Day one, everyone did a introductory speech, one person in particular, stunned everyone with his control of words, his delivery and wit were outstanding, the man was a natural born, inspirational speaker, he also had cerebral palsy.
Part of his speech concerned losing jobs, and why the universe didn't seem to support him no matter which direction he went, it was blatantly obvious to the rest of us, where his talents lay.
We became good friends from the word go, I found the man inspirational and hope he goes on to inspire many more.
During the course of the week, people change seating positions, day three this lady sat next to me, straight away I got this agitated, busy mind, I thought straight away, corporate type, very busy, well to do, but couldn't understand how busy her mind was, during the course of the day it was starting to annoy me to the extent of thinking about changing my seat.
Next thing were doing practical work, the way the cards fell, this lady had to work with me, I could see her try to partner up with someone else, she obviously picked up on my annoyance.
We did work together, again the agitated mind came up, she claimed to have a lot going on at the time, we got talking and had a wonderful conversation, she was half way through a three year shamanic training course.
We left Glastonbury, thinking back over the week, the place itself, the wonderful people we had met, then this busy, agitated mind came back, I thought about the lady and the course she was doing, and googled the name of the course, after reading a few lines, I came across my answer, " Shamanism of the bee."
Mojo.
