Once more the messages are coming thick and fast in my meditation time. Last evening I had a very strong image of an arrow pointing downwards. It was thick and black and very strong and clear in the centre of my vision - my eyes were closed. Anyone any ideas about what this might mean? I have been puzzling and pondering and asking for clarification and nothing seems to make any sense - can anyone shed any light on this for me? It was very clear the image, so I didnt mistake it for anything else.

Seems to point to 2 things lizzie. Either you are heading in the wrong direction in your life, due to the direction pointing down or you need to earth yourself more due to pointing towards the ground. When I read your post, the image that came to my mind was the Rune Teiwaz - The Warrior, Tiw, the Sky God..I do not know if this is relevant to you, but the meaning for this Rune, which is the Upward arrow, but in its reversed description, is the symbol you describe.
Reversed : The danger is that through hasty or ill-timed action, life force leaks out or is spilled away. If an association is short-lived, do not grieve, know that is has fulfilled its span. Matters of trust and confidence are at issue here, and with them the authenticity of your way of being in the world
Reversed, teiwaz calls for examining your motives carefully. Is it self-conquest with which you are concerned, or are you trying to dominate another? Are you lusting after outcomes, or are you focused on the task for its own sake?
You will find the answers within yourself, not in outside advice.
Its just what that symbols means to me, take from it what you will, or discard it, either way, its another slant on your vision.

interesting takes from both of you and very many thanks. I have the instinct that Leon is correct in that I need to ground myself more - if you like, that seems to be the most obvious meaning to me, and it seems to resonate - when I read that, I had an "aha!" moment! I know a little of runes, and I certainly understand that I will find the answer inside myself - there is no outside. I dont think it makes much sense, though, to me, the reading of it....so thanks for your reply both of you.
