The Rose by Bette Midler
I’ve just come across this song. It’s a beautiful song, even I kind of too old and listen to this song only in a spiritual sense. Hope you enjoy it, in any sense you like. :-)
(Sorry for the quality of the video. There are better versions on youtube but I don’t know why I like this one.)
Some say love, it is a river, that drowns the tender reed Some say love, it is a razor, that leaves your soul to bleed Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need I say love, it is a flower, and you, its only seed
It's the heart afraid of breaking, that never learns to dance It's the dream afraid of waking, that never takes a chance It's the one who won't be taken, who cannot seem to give and the soul afraid of dyin', that never learns to live
When the night has been too lonely and the road has been too long And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong Just remember in the winter, far beneath the bitter snow Lies the seed, that with the sun's love in the spring becomes the rose.

Very nice Monty. This song is sung (a lot) here in Ireland and I think I must have become immune to its lyrical charms...but on listening to one of my idols 'Bette Midler' sing it here beautifully rejuvenates this song vibrations for me. Thank you for sharing Isn't it funny can we can become so used to seeing and hearing the same things that we, loose the meaning!...but all takes is to view or listen from a different direction...to fully appreciate what was always there. Once again thank you Monty for sharing Love and Light
