I have read a lot on this site and thought I would join in if I may. I was looking for a site to talk about God, and Jesus, and Truth, and something we all want to talk about....LIFE. I am a little concerned about which God we have in mind here, but I have not joined in to step on anyone's toes as much as I came to discuss what miracles are happening today, and who is causing them. I will start another thread on MIRACLES just to find out who all is receiving them and how. This post is just to say Hi and see who is active and just how active is this site. My search has been to create a forum like this...that is a miracle in itself, cause I don't want to start or create another website. I am a simple man with a fairly simple mind and the up-keep on a site like this takes lots of work. So, to start my introduction, I'd like to say I'm a Born Again Christian. I have dabbled in so many other religions it is scary (ever reach nirvanna?)...the way to God is Jesus. The final say-so I had from reaching Nirvanna through meditation was "Go through the door", and we know who is on the other side knocking. Anywy, I don't have a debate attitude, but I have found a word of Truth that fits all the needs I have every come across. So I won't argue with anyone nor step on anyones beliefs. I just like talking about God and helping those who seek the same in Truth. Truth is a two edge sword. I believe when we make our own truth, it cuts our life up in too many pieces that have no motion. My foundation is in the Bible (and for those who think so, NO, there is no contradiction in there. If you found them, you just picked up on what you wanted to think and as we all know, our own understandings lead to major crashes in our life. Truth is something that you can walk with you your daily life...ever try to carry what you gathered in Nirvanna further than the few motions it takes to stand back up? Been there, done that, and as much as I tired, Oneness with God come from knowing the Truth (and Jesus explained He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life). OK, this one is OPEN for a gathering!

Hi Charles, Welcome to the God Light Forum. It is really nice to meet you and I have enjoyed reading your words. You are not alone, in the sense that having studied the different spiritual paths, have found yourself back at the beginning. I believe we can only know for sure what is right for us, after we have explored and understood what else is out there. Having said that, I believe that life is a process of continually learning and growing. I still believe that there is much wisdom and truth to be found in other holy books, not just the bible. I also believe that at their cores most spiritual beliefs are about truth love and compassion, and I see much that is similar, though worded differently. I look forward to reading your posts and getting to know you better. Love and light Kaz

Kaz, Thanx for the reply and the welcome. I think I have been reading a lot of you on this board...did you set this site up?
Yes, searching a lot of different beliefs is probably what makes us what we are today, and some of us are probably happy with that. But I feel that there are still many more out there that are looking and I wish I could help some of them before they wind up on the south bound side of a north bound highway. I know that in my first reach for "A" truth came when I picked up a book called "looking through an eastern window" and to be honest, I could have done without wasting those years of what I was trying to believe. That type meditation just doesn't have much "working" appeal. You know, it's a lot of nice thoughts but it just don't work in my walk each day.
Like so many others on the West Coast I dove into a number of years paying for a course in "Estacology" (you know, that inner god in all of us) that can't cure cancer nor does comfort you when you find yourself in a pickle. In fact, it really doesn't do ANYTHING to better your life one way or the other. God even called us little gods, but he made a plan for Jesus to live in us so that we may do even better and bigger miracles than he did. Probably has something to do with the "time at hand".
Anyway, I may be "wordy" today because I have been set in motion on a task that makes me nervous, kinda' like Gideon, I feel more at ease running to hide than I do standing and doing for God.

Hi Charles, No, it was not me who set up this forum and chat, I wish! I have been a member here for over six years and have just loved it here and enjoy posting. I have found it a great way of articulating my thoughts, sharing my experiences with others and reading about theirs, and just asking questions. I have always been drawn to spirituality and grew up in a traditional catholic household. I did find my faith restrictive and there seemed no leeway for discussions about faith. So, as many teenagers do, I rebelled and decided I didn't believe in anything that could not be explained. Though I did always have a strong sense that there was much more to life then we can see, hear and feel with our physical senses. Looking back, I can see it was probably said to wind my mum up more then anything else..lol I read everything I could get my hands on about the human condition. Especially books about the holocaust and anything to do with man overcoming adversity. I felt that there was something else going on with people, beyond the obvious instinct to survive. I suppose it was seeing the human spirit or the divine within people that was able to lift them and carry them forward, long after physically they had gone beyond human endurance. So for me, I can see looking back, I was looking and trying to understand what belief in God or having a spiritual faith in something greater then ourselves meant, and how it manifested itself in our lives. I have always been very sensitive and empathic. People would open up and talk to me easily and felt able to share the things that caused them pain and worry. I discovered I could feel energy. Particularly he electromagnetic field around the body, which people also refer to as the auric field. I know this to many is amongst the so called new age practices. But it has been around for thousands of years. this led to my developing a very passionate interest in healing, in all its forms and looking at holistic therapies for health. From this my studies have included the power of the mind and its connection to health. From there I have studied the Buddhist beliefs and have found personally, it has benefited me a lot in my own endeavours towards well being, physically, emotionally and spiritually. I do believe that there is a lot of stuff out there that is just words and designed to mentally make people feel good but doesn't actually do anything. But having said that, there is also a lot of stuff that does. My feelings are, that what works for one person may not work for another, we are all unique. But just because something might not work for me, does not negate its effectiveness for others. I like to keep an open mind and every day is still a journey of discovery. Though I am no Jonah and so do not swallow everything I am told or read without a healthy does of skepticism and discernment. One thing I have discovered is, using that old cliche, the more I learn, the less I know. Things have a way of happening that can turn previously held idea's and beliefs on their head. The one thing though has always been a sincere belief in God. I don't think there is a God, I know there is. But that is because I feel it with my heart, and long ago stopped trying to intellectualise it. Love and light Kaz

Hi Charles
Like yourself I am new to this site. I have a feeling I'm going to like it here. I enjoy reading what other people wish to share, whether I agree or not is not important really.
If I was going to put a label on myself well I would call myself a Spiritualist, though over the years I have investigated many religions and found little pearls of wisdom in all of them.
